The Westin is beautiful and I loved staying there. Probably the most beautiful hotel room I have ever sayed in and I have been in Europe and Asia. The staff remembered I had a latte for breakfast the day before and asked if they could 'organize a...

We had a reservation for two nights, pre-paid. Flight delays meant that we had to email twice (no reply) to let them know our arrival would be delayed. We received no answer, but an email to let us know we would be charged for both nights. We arr

A truly sensational hotel which makes you feel like you're in the lap of luxury. However, room rate aside, everything at the hotel is ridiculously expensive eg: there is a room service surcharge of $8.00 just for delivery to your room. Never seen that before. In all other respects, the hotel is faultless and I would stay there again but eat out.

Nice building, great location. Most requests catered for (late check out 1pm was appreciated - request for a vase for flowers never eventuated.) Air-con noisy, but overall a pleasant stay. Oh yeah, we watched a bit of Japanese tv, and they hit us with a $15 bill. They eventaually waived the bill, (there was no confirmation screen to pay for the channel,) but it seemed a bit shonky. If some non-english speaking Japanese people were hit with the same, they would probably just pay it. How many times does this happen a week?

We stay at the Westin every time we are in Sydney. Whether we have the kids with us or not. Close to all types of public transport, 50metres to Pitt Street Mall and the staff are never too busy to help. Always clean! We love it. As for you get what you pay for, The Westin Sydney always has great offers. Do yourself a favour......

We stayed at the Westin over new years and lets just hope 2010 is better than our stay at the Westin. The Westin is overpriced ($650US for week leading up to new years), understaffed (16 hours to clear the room of dirty dishes despite TWO requests?!), and the farthest thing from a five star hotel. STRIKE ONE: Despite astronomical rates, the hotel nickels and dimes you for everything. $30 internet per day (that's the reason you see all the refugees in the lobby using the free wireless); $45 mediocre breakfast brunch and the best of all - AN AUTOMATIC $8 service charge for all room service orders. Everytime I ordered milk for my 2 year old toddler, the bill was actually $11.50 because of the $8 service charge. RIDICULOUS! STRIKE TWO: The service is atrocious from the manager down. We do not believe in airing complaints on a website like this without bringing them to management's attention so they have an opportunity to rectify them; however, in the case of the Westin, two separate managers were indifferent to our complaints and explained that we should expect poor slower service during busy times. One went so far to say that we were lucky to have a room at the Westin and if we were unhappy we should stay elsewhere next time. Unfortunately this attitude is reflected in the concierge, bellhops, waitstaff, etc. STRIKE THREE: The concierges were absolutely useless. They had never heard of a bagel place one street away from the hotel; left out KEY pieces of information (e.g. you have to have a PREPAID ticket to board the bus); and were impossible to get a hold of (shortest time we waited to have the concierge pick up the phone was 12 minutes). STRIKE FOUR: There is no benefit to being a SPG member. We are gold members and were told that there was no upgrade available despite our friends being upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite that same day. We have stayed at 5 of Conde Naste's top hotels in the world. The Westin Sydney doesn't come close to any of those hotels and in reality we have never paid so much for so little.
