Needed a Good Dust! Decent sized room, comfy bed, good air-con and an excellent, large bathroom can't hide the fact that Rydges World Square needs a good clean. The carpet in the corridor on the way to my room was heavily stained with something and the clock radio on the bed side table was THICK with dust. When you pay good money for a quality hotel the least you can expect is that they shampoo the carpets and give the rooms a good dust!

Having been told on check in that it was our 10th wedding anniversary, I expected something nice even if it was one after dinner mint each but there was nothing. Other hotels have given more for less reasoning. Otherwise, the food was delivered on time at the right temperature and with style (white table cloth on the cart and packaged silver cutlery). Pity the room with little view (except for thrown out cigarette packages and barely a view of anything else) and hardly any room to move did not match the price!

The overall was ok but its a bit unfair one has to pay $30 a day on parking would be one of the most expensive rates in Sydney.

Stayed for a week in June 2007. Had to ask each morning for the free newspaper despite the fact that I requested one at check-in. Carpets are water stained on some floors in the corridors. Hotel is in need of renovation. Each day saw different toiletries supplied some with the old Avillion brand. No attention to detail at all. Definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel. Perhaps business grade travel if you are not fussed where you stay.

Good Visit The hotel is in a good location for the vacationer. The mall at the base was good for eating and shopping and there was lots to do in the evening. We walked everywhere but there is good bus and train service near.

Rydges World Square This hotel is well located. From airport, nearest station is Museum which is 4 minutes walk to/from hotel, this station is also good for Circular Quay. Next nearest is Town Hall, but is about 4 times further than Museum. Mono rail is next door and is good for lots of the popular Sydney venues, such as Darling Harbour. Central Station is also very close.

The hotel is in a perfect location, center of the city. The room size is good and clean. The bathroom, on the other hand, was not clean. The receptionists are helpful, but they kept on mishandling my bookings. My hotel was fully paid up via Asiaroom but they insisted I had to pay, but promised to check with Asiaroom the problem. They erroneously gave me an occupied room. When I opened the door, I was embarrassed to see a woman lying on the bed. The receptionist compensated my embarrassment by offering me a free breakfast for my stay. The first night we stayed in a room with a broken TV set. We switched room next day. Two days later, I checked further with the front desk to see what happened to my booking. The supervisor Dominic finally fixed it. It was, in fact, fully paid up via Asiaroom. Unfortunately, on my check out, they still sent me a bill for the charges. I had to go back to the front desk to clarify the issue again. It is a nice hotel in a very good location. It is just not properly managed.
