A great hotel if you want to use it as a base for sightseeing. Very short walk to Circular Quay, and a view of the Opera House is available with a two minute walk! The views from the roof were great as well, though the pool and spa were a bit small.

For spending time on the harbour this hotel could not be better located! Superb views from the roof top swimming area too. The open plan atrium, the layout inside, raised restuarant and cosy bar area all make the best of the shape and size of the building - an old converted warehouse of some kind I should imagine. The Rocks area is buzzing and there is agood market on the weekend. The Tourist information place is right next door and the staff there was so helpful. Must also mention the concierge at the hotel who was excellent in helping to book out tall sips sailing trip. As far as price is concerned, it's all about location. My wife and I got a good deal staying here as I used my existing + bonus 50 member dollars too stay (breakfast included) , and she had reward points from previous business trips (beakfast not included with her booking though). Not sure if I would pay full price to stay there though. Great if you want some where within a lower budgert as a special treat though.

The hotel was in an absolutely amazing position within walking distance of most prime tourist attractions! The service was amazing as we arrived very early in the moring we were not expecting our room to be ready but it was and they gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne as we were on our honeymoon truely a wonderful hotel.

The Holiday Inn at Old Sydney was the perfect hotel for me and I stayed at two others while in Sydney. It wasn't massive, it felt small and comfortable and the location could not have been better. Nestled at the end of George Street in what's known as, The Rocks, which is the oldest part of Sydney. It had a better location than the much more expensive Four Seasons and Marriott hotels. The hotel practically sits on Sydney Harbor, right across from the world famous Opera House. The Harbor Bridge in all it's majesty and massiveness is your neighbor. And the views from the rooftop pool and lounge area were amazing.

the location of this hotel is the best. the staff is very helpful with any question/concern. The view from the rooftop pool is a reason to stay in itself. Have stayed at many places and this one impressed. The ONLY drawbacks are the noise from a from the lobby wafting into the lower lobby facing rooms, and the age of the hotel showing some signs of wear.

To start with the location of this hotel is superb easy walikng distance to circular quay, and the restaurants of the Rocks and easy to get to all you need to. However don't get a room on the south side particularly on Friday or Saturday as you will be subjected to the nightclub noise next door - while the hotel supplied ear plugs, and to their credit changed us to another room (although they stated in future we should ask for a quiet room - doesn't everyone want one of these).
