I stayed in one of the renovated studiio rooms facing Hyde Park. The room was an impressive size and decorated in typical, contemporary browns. Decor managed not to look too cheap or tacky as is often the case with this particular flavour. Kitchenette was functional for making a simple meal, but lacked the facilities and utensils to cook anything really impressive. As in most hotels with a kitchenette, there was no sharp knife and only a dodgy corkscrew. The bathroom is well lit and clean, but our bath tub didn't drain properly meaning one had to take a shower in ankle deep water. Service on check in and check out was efficient, and staff went to great detail to explain the special arrangements in place for Mardi Gras which was on when we stayed (and our reason fro choosing this hotel - we were lucky to have a room with a reasonable view of the parade).

Whilst this hotel is very central to Sydney, the service, cleanliness and noisiness of it lets it down. The receptionist showed utter contempt, he was busy with a personal call. The room was "clean" but things were well worn. The hotel is loca

The staff were very friendly, room was great, location was perfect. I will not stay there again as the noise was too stressful. I would highly recommend that you double your windows i.e. a double glaze or something. I was presenting next door to you and did not sleep due to approx 10 sirens during the night and road maintenance. The actual windows looked old and it seemed a few area's were decaying / rusting which may have something to do with it Are your rooms not facing College St any quieter. If so I could come back if not sorry.
