Ibis Sydney Darling Harbour

70 Murray Street - 2009 Sydney

Enjoy the sights of Sydney's famed leisure and dining haven when you stay at the Ibis Hotel Darling Harbour. The Ibis is officially a three-star hotel and was designed to fill the gap in the market for affordable and convenient corporate accommodation. Being so close to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre certainly helped the hotel with its ambition. Likewise, the explosion of shopping and recreational facilities at Darling Harbour has attracted travellers on all budgets, particularly families and large groups. While many of the 256 rooms are somewhat small, the spectacular city views and high standard of service compensate. The Skyline Restaurant is an intimate buffet or a la carte dining area, while the Skyline Bar is cosy and popular with guests and locals who spill out onto the terrace on Friday nights. The Harbourside Room can seat 20 people for dinner, or cater to 45 for cocktails. Will definantly stay again. I have been trying to get in again in the next week 24th for 2 nights but is fully booked out they say. by IBBERSON, Gabrielle, United Kingdom This hotel has a prime position with lovely views of Darling Harbour. There are plenty places roundabout for meals (ranging from breakfast, to coffee, to lunch to dinner) which is a good thing because the only thing that lets the hotel down is its meals. The evening meal was very unimaginative compared with the excellent food we had everywhere that we went to in Australia (including other hotels)and the breakfast rather ordinary. I do hope you will look at this as so much is excellent. by SS, Hong Kong The location is extremely good. It is really great to have such a room with low price and great value. I had a very good stay for 4 nights in Ibis! I stayed in Ibis for my first visit to Sydney and I had a wonderful time. I would probably stay in Ibis again if I come to Sydney again! by MARTIN, Sally, United Kingdom The location of the hotel is fantastic. I stayed at the Ibis on two separate occasions, firstly in a twin room with my Dad, and then a few weeks later on my return to Sydney in a single occupancy room. The single occupancy room was fantastic, with lots and room and I enjoyed having a nice big bed all to myself!! However, Dad and I stuggled in the twin room as it was very small for two people to share. Overall though, was very pleased and thought it was good value for money.

The location is very good - and the price is reasonable. It's not a romantic getaway, but it workd.

We found the hotel very nice but the rooms were very small for the price, especially with twin beds. I would definitely stay there again as it was so close to the amenities. Thanks.

The Ibis was near the harbor and transportation options. I enjoyed the location, its cleanliness. I was disappointed that there was no safety bar in the shower, any hand towels or laundry services on Sunday. Since my daughter made the reservation I am uncertain what rating designation the hotel has been given.

I didn't spend much time at the hotel, but it served its function, which to me was a place to sleep, and get cleaned up for the next day. The TV was small, with just your basic free-to-air channels, and pay-per-view movies (poor quality). Had to ask for an iron, and the ironing board kept falling down! The bathroom was adequate in size. The room overall was a 5 minute walk to the Sydney Convention centre or to the Harbourfront shops. Would be a good place to stay for the business traveller.

Hotel room quite small, but very clean and certainly adequate. The location is superb, and we had a harbour view room which I would highly recommend - only costs a little extra, and well worth it. Only a 2 minute walk to beautiful Darling Harbour and all

Loved the location, etc, but was very disappointed with room we were given because we booked it last year in plenty of time, so that we could get some views of the harbour. Instead we got the back view of some hotels and street. When i mentioned this to the desk clerk she said that is all that was available. I think we should have been booked into a good room then and not left it to the last minute! Also when booking on line there is no provision for stating preference....even the phone number on the booking slip was a Hong Kong one, so i couldn't get through. Hope this will improve in the future if we were to stay again. Regards Liz
