If you're looking for a great location with a cool vibe, big luxury rooms and an overall great experience, then Establishment is for you. The truly amazing thing about the place is that there is so much to offer within the hotel "complex" in terms of a huge and sleek bar, great sushi restaurant upstairs, even better lounge, that you have to pull yourself away to visit other places in Sydney. Since this is such a popular destination for the well-heeled locals to visit well into the night, ask for a room away from the activity. We didn't experience any noise issues since we got a room on the 5th floor on the other side of the downstairs bar. Don't expect views from the bedrooms, but with everything else this hotel offers, you won't miss it (such as the rain shower that appears from the top of the shower ceiling roof). Book this hotel...you'll be happy if you're between 20-40 and and looking for a chic spot to rest your feet at the end of the day, and then get back up to experience the scene that it attacts.

It definitely is cooler than the other hotels down near the waterfront in the city -- cozy, stylish rooms, and one of the great places to hang out in the evening with an amazing array of bars and restaurants. The only real issue is that when you fly all the way to Australia, and look out your window to find a brick wall across an alley, it's not quite the same as looking out at the harbour and the opera house.
