I loved Sullivans. It was simple but everything I wanted could be found somewhere and the staff were so friendly and helpful. As a single traveller I felt very much looked after and would have stayed much longer. The location is excellent with the 380 bus going to Bondi beach one way and circular quay the other. And the use of a free computor was excellent for a traveller away from home. Nice touches like the courtyard and swimming pool, free bikes, washing facilities, a place to leave suitcases and the free muffins on the reception counter after a hard days sightseeing. I couldn't fault this hotel, not fussy or luxurious but absolutely everything else

Friendly and Helpful Staff! There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The Tuna Melt at the bookshop across the street was awesome!

Rooms and beds were small, but clean and well maintained. Don't forget shampoo and soap as they're not supplied in the room. The staff were attentive and pleasant. I would recommend this hotel to others traveling to Sydney

Had a great stay at sullivans, now you are a fair way up Oxford street and the rooms are not huge, but. The staff were great we changed rooms three time & they didn't even cringe, & we ended up with harbour glimpses. A swim in the pool is a must. It would have to be the most quiet & relaxing courtyard in sydney. Honestly I had such a relaxing time I was quite hesitant to give a good review to sullivans, as I didn't want to give away my little secret.... But they deserve it.

3 stars? Really? The only true high points were the location--great neighborhood with lots to do--and free internet. Room itself was old--bedspreads had cigarette burns, linens were stained, and the bathroom was gross with very dirty grout and a significantly rusty doorframe. Hotel staff was not helpful (ie unable to recommend a good restaurant, didn’t want to call a cab when we were on a tight timeframe for an international flight.) Traveler's tip on dining Thai Me Up restaurant a few blocks back towards Hyde Park offers decent food for a low cost.

I was advised by a friend to stay in Paddington as it’s not exactly in the city centre, and in a nice area, the hotels in the City will have rooms that are way over priced and staying just outside will cut your room price in half! After looking for a hotel on the internet I stumbled across “Sullivan’s”. Reading previous reviews on the hotel, the only thing I’d read negative was about the size of the rooms, for the time you’d spend in your room it wouldn’t bother us… So I decided to book. Expecting a room no bigger than a shoe box I was actually quite impressed with it, although it wasn’t massive in comparison to other hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, it certainly was comfortable and ticked all the boxes, it had everything we needed: Tea / Coffee making facilities, a double bed, wardrobe, dining table and chairs and shower etc… The staff were so helpful and friendly, the place was clean, and I would definately recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Sydney, when I return to Sydney this is the hotel I’m staying in… it really was all round a great place! Word of warning though, there’s only one PC! So if you want to use the internet… be prepared to wait! It was like it was always in use! But they’re internet cafes in the area and for $2 an hour you might as well as go in there! There’s also a laundry in the hotel should you wish to wash your clothes, it’s $3 a wash $3 dry, you can get washing powder from reception at a $1 charge (but would recommend bringing your own) The location on the other hand was brilliant! Everything is within’ walking distance: Opera House, Harbor Bridge, Botanic Gardens, Hyde Park and the Ferry port, the most you’d walk is about 30mins and that’s to the Harbor Bridge. Go ahead, what you waiting for… book it now! Is what I’d say!

We had a wonderful time at Sullivans. Every single person we have met were super friendly and helpful. The location was really good. There are many good shops and restaurants around the hotel. It has very easy access to beach, city centre and train station. We have stayed at the 5 star hotel in the city center before. The room was very nice but its service was absolutely terrible. It didn't pay for what we had to pay. It certainly gave us a very bad impression about Sydney. But staying at Sullivans has changed our opinion about Sydney. And we only paid a half of what we paid for the other hotel. We will difinately stay there again. Thanks to all the staffs at Sullivans.

I did not appreciate the cockroach and other creepy crawlies that I found in my bathroom late at night!
