This is a charming place with gracious hosts. It is very clean, hard wood floors, wifi internet, set in a quiet neighborhood of cute houses, many with gardens in front. It is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the Woodside train station and subway/elevated train stop. The walk feels very safe even at 11PM. If you don't want the exercise there are always taxis at the train station. From this location there is easy public access to Manhattan and Long Island. It is within walking distance (or bus/taxi) of many good restaurants- Thai, Chinese, Phillipino, Mexican, Tibetan- you name it. I mentioned to a chef in Long Island that I was staying here, he said excitedly-" In this area you will find the most authentic ethnic cuisine in all of New York"! There are also several nice diner style cafes for breakfast. Also the Flushing Chinatown is a few stops on the elevated train. This Chinatown is much larger, nicer and interesting than the one in Manhattan. As long as Woodside Guest house is here, I am never going to stay in a pricey Manhattan hotel again!
