Very well located The best thing about this hotel is its location. The hotel is in good condition but the room they gave me was very small(like a box)and with the window view to a wall. Not too pleasant! They don’t have coffee maker nor ice buck in the room. Maybe it is because is a very old hotel that has been renovated and it doesn’t have these commodities.

Nice surprise - staff were friendly and helpful - although we arrived very early and had reserved a standard room, it wasn't available but we were upgraded to a suite and able to check in immediately - the suite we chose was fully furnished and enormous--larger than many New York studio apartments--including bedroom (2 double beds), living room, dining room, bathroom, 2 TVs, 3 closets (2 standard and 1 walk-in), fridge, etc. - furnishings and decor were dated, but the amount of space we had more than made up for this - convenient location in Midtown; just a few blocks walk to Carnegie Hall, Central Park, Columbus Circle, City Center MoMA, and several subway lines

Nice, clean and good sized rooms, stops there. The check in process was terrible. It took far too long to check in as there was a good number of people and only two agents. Otherwise the service was only fair at best. Our standard room was better than expected. It was a good size, well-kept and very clean. The bathroom was too small though. The location is very good, central to Manhattan and close to a subway station. The attached Greek restaurant is outstanding but the attached diner leaves much to be desired.

Very disappointing! The Wellington is an awful hotel. It is old, outdated, and dirty. I had to wait an hour to get into my room, and once there it was a nasty cracker box. The elevators were scary as they rattled and shook going from floor to floor. There was no air conditioning in the room, the TV was very small (19 in) and the picture fuzzy, the bathroom was completely outdated, and the bed old and lumpy. The closet smelled like crap so I didn’t even put my clothes in it. I was so afraid that I was going to catch some type of disease. I couldn’t even get the wireless internet to work in the room, so I asked them to remove the $9.95/day from my bill, which they they did. And, I can’t forget to tell you about the noise...it was totally excessive...lots of banging, knocking, thumping, and bumping. The only good thing about the hotel that I can say is that the staff was good...the bellmen, the restaurant staff, and the gift shop staff. Do yourself a favor and stay at a reputable hotel like the Sheraton, Marriott, Hilton, or Doubletree. It’s worth the peace of mind.

Nice, basic hotel in great location! Use the metro - easy to get around quick. The tour buses are a nice idea, but just be aware getting on and off, as you can be left waiting in queues getting back on.

Good place to sleep I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance to the Theatre District, and I wasn’t looking for lots of amenities since I was really only going to be in the room to sleep. The room was clean, every person I dealt with was friendly and helpful. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but I’ve slept on worse in higher rated hotels. Location was good -- 20 minute walk to Times Square, subway station adjacent to hotel, lots of little cafes and restaurants.

Would not hesitate to use this hotel again. This was a great hotel in an excellent position for all amenities in New York. The hotel was warm and friendly, staff were very helpful. There is only one very small suggestion I could make and that would be tea/coffee facilities to be made available in the room. Otherwise this hotel I would certainly recommend.

Dirty, disgusting hotel Even though this hotel was the cheapest of all the three star hotels, it was a horrible experience. I had to switch rooms 3 times because they were so dingy and at the third room, being the best, I found mice glue traps and a dead cockroach the last day of my stay. It’s worth spending a little bit more and getting a quality room. There’s no other words to describe it as dirty, nevermind it being old and having no frills. Would never recommend this hotel or stay here again. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks You get what you pay for--Stay someplace else in Midtown, this was a dump
