Overpriced Adequate but not as luxurious as I would have wanted, or expected, for the cost! Rooms, corridors etc. were very small.Things like no-one available to help with luggage brought it in line with the star rating but I still think it was not value for money. In its defense, it was conveniently located for our purposes.

Great location Babbo, the best Italian restaurant in the city is directly across the street from the hotel. There is a huge waiting list so it's best to book before you go. We didn't have a booking but our concierge advised us that they keep 6 tables free in the bar area for people who get there early. The Queue starts around 5.30 and the tables are full by 5.35! It's expensive but so worth it.

Our experience (2 adults, no chidren) was horrible! We have stayed in NYC multiple times, and this was the worst place and experience. The staff did not attend to anyone that walks through the door. No "hello" nothing. In addition, they are...

The Washington Square Hotel was the perfect place for us to stay on our third visit to NYC in less than 2 years. We loved being right across from Washington Square, immersed in the energy of the university all around us. (West 8th Street was a bit tacky and not to our liking, but was easy enough to avoid). We had no difficulty finding places to eat within short walking distance of the hotel, whose complimentary continental breakfast with fresh fruit bowl was perfect for our health-consciousness. Even though it was "rather compact", we loved the decor of our room....a sophisticated urban style with convenience and attractive use of each inch of space. The colorful contemporary tile artwork was an enjoyable sight in the hallways, lobby and adjoining restaurant and bar. The friendliness of the staff seemed sincere and unaffected making us feel welcome and looking forward to our next stay with them.

pros: Price, location, comfy bed, quaint - not like the typical best-westernYou're lucky to get a decent room with your own bathroom in Manhattan for $250/nite but this is the place! quaint lobby, nice staff. Our room was clean with new linens....
