The newly renovated WJ Hotel is an ideal place to stay in the Big Apple. On a tree lined street close to Times Square, the WJ gives you the feel of a neighborhood stay while in the big city. Their simple rooms are small but are practical in their design and functionality. A good place to relax after along day of sighseeing and shopping!

the hotel is at human size (that is quite unbelievable in manhattan !), the staff is really professional, helpful and polite. Our room had a king size bed, with shower and toilets for a reasonable price. Despite the noise all around us, we spent good nights in the WJ hotel. We recommand it greatly !!!

Just spent 4 days at the Washington Jefferson and cannot wait to go back. I have stayed in hotels all around the world but nowhere have I met such wonderful staff. The moment I arrived, the door was whisked open and that was just the begining of a wonderful visit in this hotel. The rooms are spotless - the bedding so comfortable... bathrooms are small but shower space is great and the size of the bathroom means nothing when you consider the wonderful service extended in every other area. Location is superb... near the subway, Gray Line Tour office, delightful little restaurants and just around the corner from Times Square and the theaters. I highly recommend this hotel..

The Washington Jefferson was a great place to stay for a trip to the Big Apple! The rooms are very small, but not bad if you're just there to rest your head. It is within walking distance of Broadway, Rockefeller Center, and great restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. We will definitely stay there the next time we return to NYC.

you may not want to stay here. The hotel is very nice and clean and the rooms are updated. My husband and I had to take turns moving around the room (we had a double bed) - I've never stayed in such a small room - even in Europe. There's only one very small window and it had an air conditioner in it, so the choice was to have the air conditioner blowing on you from a foot away, or nothing - no fresh air possible. Anyway, we were only in the room from midnite to about 8am - we were having a great time running around the city. We were close to everything and the neighborhood was very safe. Might try to find a place that has slightly larger rooms and queen beds next time. I think these rooms would be great for 1 person.

Stayed in the King with Jacuzzi and it was a great value. Lots of space, clean bed, bubbly fun. Staff was busy, but helpful, lent us an umbrella when we were unprepared for a downpour. I was almost scared off this place because of a few web user reviews said the neighbourhood was "scary." It was nothing of the sort. It was on your average downtown urban street. Saw no one threatening at all.

Very small room in excellent location. Airconditioning struggled a bit in the heat.

True, the location was really good-close to everything you'd want to see. But the rooms were flat-out uncomfortable. There was barely enough room to move about with the luggage in the room. For the price, this just is not worth it.
