I really enjoyed staying at the Union Square Inn on my first trip to New York City in December of 2007. It was a cute little hotel with loads of character, convenient to the subway, and had the best coffee I have ever drank and it was even free each morning along with danish and bagels and juice which were also delicious! The staff was low-key but very helpful when needed. This hotel is very clean also. I would definitely stay there again.

The front desk staff were very helpful at check in, i explained that i had a knee injury as i checked in a bit later in the evening they did not have it available that night but could move me to a lower floor the next day. i did not mind someone did help me with luggage both at check-in and at the move. the breakfast was good i toasted my own bagels and coffee was great. i stayed 6 nights and had no interaction of bed bugs but i believe all hotels might have that problem and you can check before you check in for things like that. i love it here and i would recommend my friends

We stayed at the Union Square Inn in August 2005 and enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights in mid-March 2008. The room appeared clean, with new wooden floors. The day after I returned home I was literally covered with bedbug bites. About a hundred Itchy, welts appeared over my face, neck, chest, side, back, arms and hands. A lesser number on my legs. My feet were untouched, as I wore socks all nights of my stay. Apart from extreme physical discomfort, since I returned home I've had to take extensive precautions to be sure I didn't bring this problem home with me.

There is something really warm and cozy in this hotel, I've been there twice and it reminds me of home. I'm from Prague and I can say that there is something quite European in it. It’s really close to the business area in New York, it offers free good internet access and the staff is nice to strangers.

Our room was in the basement and when you looked out the window there was an alley full of garbage. It was also very loud. I do have to say it's in a great location though.

Adorable, very clean and wonderfully located in Manhattan in a great neighborhood and close to subway connections. Highly recommend.

This place is adorable, clean and very nice. Wonderful location, helpful staff. Best deal in Manhattan!
