Electrical nightmares Everything was going well until Wednesday, April 11. I was in the elevator going to breakfast, and it stopped (10:10am). I was stuck on the elevator for a couple of minutes, inbetween the floors. VERY Scary! All I got in response was mumbling on the speaker while the elevator was stuck. I went down to the desk to complain, and they said they knew nothing about it. We come back at 3:00 from sightseeing and the 3 electrical circuits went on and off for an hour. (that is how I know there are three circuits in the room). Each went off three or four times for various amounts of time. We called the front desk (while the phone worked), and they said and electrician would stop by. Eventually, we talked to a neighbor on the way to the elevator, and they had the same problem (circuits going on and off). An electrician stopped by to see them. NOBODY came by to see us or discuss. I went down to complain again, and they said the manager was busy; he would call me later. NEVER got call. I was an electrical inspector, and I know what was happening- electrical work while people occupied the place. The elevator problem was unacceptable, and the responses were even worse. I am sad to have to say this, but people deserve to hear about these experiences.

New Yorks Grandist Hotel work out the sightes or shops you wish to visit, then plan where you are going on what day and if possible book ahead, this will save you dissapointment and wasted hours.

What a difference from my last stay! NAbsolutely spend the extra dollars for one of the magnificent suites. Great for biz as there is the "luxury" of feeling as though you have a separate office space. Although wired, there is excellent internet connection, and your own printer and fax machine... helps when you are printing boarding passes. For the family; ideal in that the kids can have their own area and there is a dining room table for all to enjoy a meal. The views are fabulous.
