Bargain hotel in the heart of Manhattan. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Each time we walked in the door, they called the elevator for us. They were helpful with maps, restaurant suggestions, mailing postcards, etc. Our reservation was honored at the correct price. They offered to store our luggage after check out so that we could enjoy our final morning in NY. The hotel is a half block from Times Square. (2 minute walk). Even though they were in the middle of renovations, the hotel was clean and quiet. Our room was cleaned spotless each day. The only thing I would complain about was the air conditioner. We were ther 7/29 through 8/5 when NY was at the peak of their heat wave. The AC unit could not keep up. We'll be back, but during a cooler time of year.

+ The location - so close to times square and easy to get to the public transport system. the room was clean and staff friendly - Well, there was construction work which was noisy, and the lift worked so badly that we were forced to climb nine floors - past the construction crew and hanging cables which was frankly dangerous. we got a room change after the first night as the air condition was so loud that we couldnt hear the tv even when on full volume (and i'm not deaf!). the telephone charges were exceptionally high and after ordering a taxi to take me to the airport they suggested using their company rather than a yellow cab, then didnt turn up on time making the trip more stressful.

I recently stayed at STAY from 6/27-6/29. Do not make the same mistake I did!! I read the reviews about this place and called right before I was going to book a reservation on priceline.com and spoke to a man by the name of Daniel. I expressed to him that though most people enjoyed the decor of the hotel, the noise would be an issue for me. I requested to have a room on floor 8, 9 or 10 if i was going to spend my 2 nights at their facilities. Daniel checked the occupancy and assured me that was not a problem at all, and was going to notate it in their files. So before grabbing a train out from Long Island, I called the hotel to verify my room arrangement... guess what, not only did they not have any notations of my room request (guaranteed via Daniel), they also had NO RECORDS of my reservation at all!!!! After spending an hour and a half back and forth on the phone with the front desk staff, priceline.com, and a man by the name of Noah at the central reservations office, the conclusion was that over the course of the past 30 hours, not a single manager at the hotel downloaded the reservations from the central reservations office (as well as there not being a manager on duty to do such tasks). End result, was that Noah had to call the hotel and have them do the reservation manually; to which the guarantee of a room on the top 3 floors was granted to me via Noah. Upon final check-in at the hotel, after already leaving my credit card for payment; I was given a room on the FOURTH FLOOR. I was baffled and argued with the man at the front desk for a minute, to which he replied to me "well sir, I understand that people told you that, but daniel isnt here right now and this is the only room I can personally give you." Man was I screwed. I just paid this hotel $775 for 2 nights stay. I was stuck in a room with only about a foot of room around the bed, the noise level from the streets and the club could wake up a hibernating bear, not even enough room for 2 suitcases (and this was their LARGE king room), the housekeeping staff seemed to be constructing a village right outside my door, and the staff were straight up rude and disprespectful. After arriving home, I called and spoke to the general manager "Chris".. wow. what a rude guy this is. I explained this entire experience at the hotel to him. He asked what would "make me happy", I told him I didn't think I should have to pay since... I already charged the room to my card, then got blown off for the guarantees made to me by both Daniel and Noah. his response was a rude chuckle, and a sarcastic "that isnt going to happen." He asked for my email address and then told me i would hear from him in the next 48 hours, but that unfortunately, I did stay at the hotel. I think the unprofessionalism with the staff, and especially the General Manager Chris, should not go unresolved. Definitely the most awful stay I have ever had in my entire life.

the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. the worst service I have ever seen. the front desk will not help out with anything. the internet in the rooms was not working for days, they lost the resevation half way thru - we were supposed to stay for 5 days and they had one for 3....the room size is small and the room was cleaned once when we were there for 5 nights. do not go. next time i'd rather sleep on the subway then stay there again.

Nice room but very noisy, you could easily hear the other guests when they were in the hallway. Unlesss the air conditioning was running, then you couldn't even hear the TV. Location was great, two minutes from Times Square.
