Location. The New York Palace, originally built in 1882 by railroad baron Henry Villard, is located across Madison Avenue from St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York, N.Y. At the New York Palace, the original Italian Renaissance style Villard Mansion with an iron gated courtyard lit by Florentine lanterns leads to a lobby with sweeping staircases, golden chandeliers, bronze doré moldings and Tiffany stained glass. Restaurants include Gilt, which serves inventive Modern American cuisine. The Gilt Bar is open nightly. Istana is an American style brasserie that prepares bistro style cuisine and offers fine wines.     Bed was amazingly comfortable and the bar scene was great. I really enjoyed everything about the atmosphere here. Would come definitely stay here again!

    An excellent Hotel with an excellent service. I, want to back New York and this come I will stay in New York Palace.

    Five star hotel at 3 to 4 star price.$16 per day for in room internet was excessive.“This was my tenth stay at this hotel and it will always be my hotel of choice when available. The staff treats you like a king always refer to you by name. Beds...

    The Palace hotel is a very historic building. The hotel has a grandeur to it that is immeasurable. The hotel is located in Manhattan and it is convenient to many locations and sites.

    from our arrival we were treated wonderfully...the room was lovely and we had a great view ..the executive lounge is the perfect addition..breakfast is a full buffet..fresh ,and delicious with many choices....lunch is a light with sandwich,soup and salad available ...and cocktails before dinner is a full bar and hors deuvres...it is included in the room cost for certain floors..well worth it..the concierge,diego,actually got us tickets for the sold out 'sex and the city 'movie.. because we were from canada we couldn't order them in advance by phone, so he made it happen....we had late night drinks at the GILT bar..spectacular room,and good service...check in and out was simple and efficient...location to shows and shopping made this a first class experience...will be staying there again...leslie

    Very Comfortable We had a very nice stay. Staff were very friendly and always helpful. Food was above average and if we needed anything they made a point to get it done ASAP. Traveler's tip on shopping Great access to local shopping and restaurants.

    pros: Decorum, service, food.Good menu at Gilt. Good service. Tasty fries and pates. Good wines albeit mostly imported. Wonderfull atmosphere. Gorgeous decorum. Great food,wine and memorable expreience overall. Definate repeat.

    After a red-eye flight and over 24 hours of no sleep, the hotel refused to accomodate us and made us wait for hours before allowing us to check in. They had absolutely no sympathy and paid no attention - their customer service is non-existent. ...
