I recently flew to NYC to propose to my girlfriend. I read other reviews about the hotel and various restaurants. I wanted everything to be right. The hotel had a lot to be desired upon entering. I am a young black man. I was looking for something classy, elegant and warm at the same time. This hotel seemed cold and old as far as the theme. The people that worked their were helpful but did not go out of their way. I thought for what I was paying the service would have been a bit warmer. I don't know if it was my urban appearance or the color of my skin. Hopefully it was not either. Everyone did what they were suppose to do but I was given the impression that they were glad to have me. The room had a special rate of $550. It was reg. 700 plus. It was not worth it at all. The bathroom was the best part of the room. It was nice and spacious. The room was small. A light did not work in the room. The noise from the street was easily heard. I have had better rooms. The location was excellent but other than the location and the bathroom I would pass on this hotel to make an impression.

I stayed at this property for 3 nights in late November. I hadn't heard of it, so I was a little scepticle.

All around excellent! Perfect location, very quite and clean, large room, professional and kind staff. I travel a lot and this is one of the best hotels I’ve been to.

+Hotel is first class in all respects and is very well located with east access to all points of interest. Our Junior Suite was a superb room.

Wonderful Surprise Went to the city/US Open for the weekend. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was very comfortable, clean and really nicely done with a seating area and a counter/bar area. Bathroom set up was nice as well with a divided shower-bathroom area from the vanity area. Got back to the room after dinner and was surprised to find the bed turned down with a piece of chocolate. No big deal, but it’s just a nice touch that I think sort of typified the hotel. The great thing to us is that it was right in the heart of mid-town (corner of 7th Ave/51st St) and a walk to everywhere. Rockerfeller Center around the corner, Time square down the street, Central Park up the street, theatres all around, MOMA.... Go a few blocks west of 7th ave and you can find all sorts of great specialty restaurants. If you’re not into exploring and want to stick with more commercial eateries, there’s plenty of those on 7th avenue. Traveler's tip on dining We found a great restaurant on 46th/8ave called Orso. Not cheap, but excellent food and service.

A gem in New York City! The hotel was very luxurious and in a great location. The service was impeccable. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was quite large. It was neo-classical in style and wonderful clean and crisp. Music was playing when we arrived in the room which was a nice touch. The room had terry robes, large fluffy towels, wine glasses, etc. It was quiet even though we were in the heart of midtown. The bed was very comfortable. A maid came by every evening for turn down service. The concierge was very helpful with restaurants and entertainment. The coffee in the morning with pastries was nice but not enough for breakfast. It was simply croissants, biscotti, and coffee. There was no jam for the croissants. We just had coffee and tea and found pastries at a bakery. There is a nice market next door which is convenient for a quick bite. A wonderful stay!

+World class concierge serivice. Elegant lobby and rooms. Great Location. World Class restaurant, but see below. Convenient well, priced parking. -Complimentary breakfast, was a notch below what you get at a Comfort Inn. They charge for internet! You can't get into the hotel restaurant.

First time in NYC The Michelangelo was an excellent hotel. Zero complaints from the three day stay. Location is perfect; a few blocks from everything we wanted to see. Five stars, all around!!!

+We love the hotel. We have stayed there before and think it is just beautiful. -The continental breakfast scene was a little too crazy and crowded for our taste.
