On my very first visit to NYC, I had the pleasure of staying in a suite at the Iroquois and it was unbelievable! The suite was spacious and very nicely furnished. The oversized tub was great to soak in after a long day of shopping on 5th Avenue. Ideally located in mid-town and within walking distance of Grand Central Station. The staff is very pleasant (always a smile on their faces) and are very helpful to a first timer in Manhattan!

I liked the room. The only problem was that my husband is 6ft tall and his feet hung off the bed if he slept straight. I didn't like the location of the room. We had to keep the window blinds shut because we faced the building next to us and...

We arrived four hours before check in time and our room was ready for us. The front desk was very helpful with directions and estimated times for getting everywhere in the city.

they bill themselves as a luxury boutique hotel, but they have absolutely no staff, no telephone operator, no direct access to essential services, everything being routed through the front desk which is often irate when asked for better and more prompt responses. They say they have 24 hour room service but never admit that before 7 am their front desk struggles to put together something called coffee and are very ungracious about it. It was a horrific experience and I felt cheated of my money's worth.

I recently visited New York for the first time and stayed at the Iroquois. It's a beautiful hotel, great lobby, nice rooms and friendly concierge. It was right in the middle of Manhattan so I was able to walk everywhere.
