nice everywhere. Service is top notch. Not your fathers hotel. Hallways a little erie with dark gray walls, white doors and yellow lights onver the doors. Other wise, it's all awesomely cool.

The rooms are small, but if you upgrade to a double bed/deluxe bathroom, they are very nice. The front desk staff is professional and helpful. The hotel is nicely designed and a fun place to stay if you want to be in an in interesting New York hotel, and not a boring hotel.

Our stay at the Hudson did not start out well. I had called several weeks in advance to confirm our room arrangements. Upon arrival, our king size bed was not available. The hotel staff was evasive and curt telling me that there were no notes to explain the upgrade and because of some mystery delays, the guest would not be checking out as scheduled. Because I could not remember who I had talked to and between which two hours I spoke to them, my complaint was not taken seriously. I eventually gave in and checked in to the assigned room which was not large enough to accommodate the cot they had suggested as an answer to our sleeping arrangements. The bathroom was exceptionally small. The poor lighting made it difficult to apply make-up or see clearly at night, and the room's air conditioning unit would not cool. This should not happen during July, but the A/C was a cost efficient unit and just circulated the stagnant air. The hotel has a beautiful design, but is not guest friendly.

When I traveled to New York City in December of 2006, I needed to find a hotel to stay at for the night that I arrived. I chose the Hudson hotel based on it's fabulous location and a slamming rate for the night I needed to check in....

pros: noneThere is no rating. The short ugly thing at the rope is spoiling the entire vibe. prices are outrageous, bartenders are amateurs and waitresses are rude. the clientele is mostly out of towners, tourists and clueless idiots spending $18 on...

Great midtown hotel The room was small but well appointed and comfortable. A little more room in the bathroom would have been nice. Wonderful restaurants, great bars, very exciting location with lots of activity. Small but good exercise facility.

excellent all round! when you arrive at the airport IGNORE the people in arrivals asking if you need a taxi - these are usually limo firms who will charge around $190 from JFK to Manhatten. take a yellow cab which will cost around $50 inclusive of tolls excluding tip. confirm the price before you set off!
