The Dylan Hotel - New York

52 East 41st Street - 10017 New York

Timeless, classic, elegant, artistica euro When you enter The Dylan Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, you are transported to a world of beauty, art and refinement. The hotel provides an elegant New York City getaway for family vacations and business travel alike. Located in the city's vibrant core, the best of New York City is just outside the front door. A short walk will lead you to Grand Central Terminal station, Jacob Javits convention centre, Times Square, Central Park, Fifth Avenue shopping and the great restaurants of Manhattan. Dylan's interiors, by Jeffrey Beers, mark a deliberate departure from both the too stark and overly hip designs currently prevalent in the high-end boutique hotel market. Beers has created a timeless look for the property that redefines opulence for a new age while preserving the landmark-quality architecture of the 1903 Beaux-Arts structure. Furthermore, with 107 spacious guestrooms, impeccable service, two meeting rooms, as well as a complimentary wireless and high-speed internet access, a fitness centre and a full service restaurant, the Dylan is guaranteed to cater to all your wishes and desires. Sleep comes easy in all the custom designed rooms. The focal point of every guestroom is the bed. The one pale blue wall behind the headboard serves as a tranquil contrast to the all white bedding. Relax while reading a book between the high thread count bed linens and plush pillows. Every bed features two floating side tables with bedside lamps for extra lighting. Rooms have been detailed to include oversized work desks with high-speed internet connection, digital alarm clock radios, dark walnut furnishings and lavish amenities. Bathrooms are rich and elegant. All bathrooms have Italian Carrara marble floors and walls and have been embellished with basin bowl style sinks. For added comfort, there are terry bathrobes and slippers in the rooms.

The location was absolutely amazing, but the hotel is in need of some renovation.

Two night stay initially in a nice reasonable sized room king bed. Quite happy. Next visit in four days time different experience. Were given room on 3rd floor adjacent to air cond plant from next building, room was vibrating from noise. Complained and given emergency room (per staff member) which was like a box. Refused this and given smaller room than first stay queen bed, but reasonable. The reception person very unhelpful and almost spiteful. Is this how you are treated when you book on wotif, last minute??? Asked if they would store luggage and were told they never did this but next day saw cupboard in foyer full of peoples luggage - very disappointing!! Would have recommended hotel on first stay experience but not now!

+ Friendley staff, good breakfast, excellent location, good beds - At first we got 2 rooms without a view, blind windows and a lot of noise because of the general airco outside, but when we asked for other rooms we got them, problem solved.

Great location, nice staff, good size rooms It was nice to return to the Dylan and see the restaurant open and hopping. It was even nicer to be recognized and greeted by one of the bell hops I had chatted with on a past visit. The rooms are spacious by NY standards and the only enhancement I would like to see is more light as they are a little dark.

the dylan hotel is perfectly situated to explore new york. the mix of historic building and fine furniture pieces is a bonus. the lobby could have been more intimate to create a warm lounging space. it's a little too exposed. the reception staff should give some consideration to wardrobe. the service was good and the staff helpful. we were happy with our choice.

Modern rooms, very comfortable bed. Key attraction is central location - short walk to Grand Central Station. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Price was middle range - but I stayed in winter & only for 3 nights.
