I had a prepaid reservation at the hotel,(because i had stayed there before and had an ok experience) and when I arrived, they explained to me that they "accidently overbooked" the hotel for that night, and they made me a "courtesy" reservation at one of their sister hotels. They also explained how I would have to pay $250 for the new room (I had a rate of $138). They said they would cancel my visa and I would have to pay for a new room at the Park Central hotel. They gave me a five dollar bill for a taxi. It was horrible. I was not the only one they did this to. I fought with the front desk guy, but he was rude and pompous. When I arrived at the Park Central, I had to fight with their front desk attentdant, she said their rooms were $299 per night.

Good value for money To get 11% off all shopping at Macy's, pop in to the Visitors Office first with your passport for the International Savings card.

Just returned from a family trip to NYC. The Belvedere lived up to its billing. In a fine location and very clean with helpful staff. I would stay again and recommend it.

I travelled to NYC on business, this hotel has the typical NYC hotel problems - rooms too small, bathroom sink didn't work, poor ventilation, too expensive ($300/night). However, if all you want is a good location this is the place for you - walk to broadway, times square, rockefeller center. Get a room on a high floor for more peace and quiet. Skip the breakfast buffet and go to Pigalle cafe at 48th and 8th ave - excellent quality and fast service for about $15 including tip.

Room was at 14th floor. Good view. Hotel is located nearby Broadway and subway station. Very good brazilian restaurant in the same building. Staff at front desk was not very friendly. Slow elevator.

will come back to belvedere We did not eat in the hotel but had breakfast in Pigalle's. turn left at the main door in hotel and it's at the next corner. the social bar opposite Pigalle's was a great place for a drink as the hotel does not have a bar. It also serves food all day, which was fine. hotel is a great location for theatre, resturants and shopping. take the uptown/downtown tours to visit museums, sites of local interest etc,.

We stayed here during the US Open and found it to be better then we had expected. It was our first time in New York and we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is great and easy to get on the subways or walk to most things. We plan on staying here again next year.

My husband and I visited NYC for the first time on Nov. 16, we arrived to the Belevedere Hotel at around 8:30 am, check-in was not until 4 pm, but they were kind enough to give us a room they had available, it was a smoking room but we were exhausted and took it. The next day my husband called the front desk to see if they had a non-smoking room, they immediaely accomodated us. Great Location,Great Staff,Great Price,Great Experience in New York.

Stayed there 8/12 & 8/13/04 - Cost was less half of what colleages on same trip paid at one of the big name hotels. Wonderful location - walking distance to Theater District, Times Square, good restaurants (try Luxia next door). Lovely traditional style hotel. Cozy and comfortable room with nice view. Newly decorated (two years ago according to staff but carpet, drapes, bedspread, wallpaper, bathroom tile still looked brand new). The entire staff (front desk, housekeeping, bellhops) was friendly, courteous, helpful, and on the ball.
