Location Location Location Don't get a room at the front of the hotel - it's noisy and there are some huge neon signs agross the road that turn your room into a disco. Get a side room for peace and quiet although you will only have a wall to look at. Oh yes - excellent food at Speedys Diner (turn right out of the hotel and cross the road) - well worth a visit for breakfast.

The Hotel Stanford was exactly what we were looking for. It was a steal for what they offered. We stayed for two nights and were within walking distance of everything. Since there were three of us, we decided to get a room with two double beds and a couch that pulls out into a bed. Perfect for our needs. And, to our surprise, the bathroom was HUGE. The service was superior and we were very happy with the entire experience. Plan to stay there again when I next travel to NY.

+ Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. - Not negative as such, but the ongoing refurbishments made breakfast time a little crowded with people having to wait for a table.

hotel room was small but clean.Breakfast was basic. The location of the Hotel could not be better, one block from the Empire State and within walking distance from most attractions. Staff were friendly.

I was in the hotel in August 05 and my experience was awful. Rooms are very different from what they look in the pictures. You don?t feel in a clean room.

not impressed the room had no face cloths i called the front desk, a person responded however did not know what face cloths were. i tried to make him understand. he returned later with more face towels.never did get face cloths. the carpet in addition to being very dirty was also stained in many places.

+ Staff were helpful and pleasant. located in the midst of good asian restaurants, many other eateries, and low-cost shopping. far from major cultural sites, but easy access to mass transportation. - Room looked out on a brick wall; the single elevator was very slow during peak hours. a complimentary breakfast of bagels and pastries was supplied, but not toaster, jam, or cereal.
