If you're coming to enjoy the city on vacation, this is nice, but if you are a business person, then stay away from this hotel. They claim to have internet service, but they are living in the dark ages. Their high speed works at a slower connection then the dial-up access that I had to resort to. Even their business center would not allow you to plug in a laptop. And when I complained about the situation with their front desk, I received a boggus story about their internet service provider having maintenance activities going on (which by the way was a lie as I checked with their provider that stated there were no service issues in the area). Needless to say, as someone that is very connected when traveling, this place was completely unproductive for business travel. I booked this place specifically because they advertise high speed internet. Given that the front desk was so smooth in their attempts to cover up their lack of internet connectivity, it appears this has been a common complaint of prior visitors, and thus would not trust staying here ever again.

My daughter and I went alone to New York. The bellhops, concierge, front desk, room service - all went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. I have stayed in many hotels in New York and this is the one we will be coming back to. The business center is excellent also for all you business travelers. I brought my two year old and everyone was extremely gracious with him also.

The Good thing was the location - FAB. That was it. I have never stayed in a hotel that was less friendly in my life. The waiting staff badger you for bigger tips as they say that they don't get paid enough, the concierge would rather just sneer and make you do all the work and asking for anything for the room such as a tea-bag or a bathrobe takes a dozen attempts before it actually happens. The worst hotel in the world - you've been warned.

Not only has the Soho Grand remained one of the hippest places in the neighborhood since it opened almost 10 years ago, but the place continues to provide great service and amenities. From a personal cd player in the room with recommended cds to a popular bar downstairs, this place is a destination all on its own

+pet friendly and nice staff. -bathroom floor needs machine scrubbing. I have that kind of tile which is hard to just mop. Shower liner should be nylon not plastic. Smell funny.

Location was very good and it was clean, but it was over-priced and pretentious. The rooms were adequate in size, but nothing more.
