My family and I have just got back from a wonderful 4 days in NY, from the moment we arrived at the San Carlos until we left, the Staff could not be more helpful(especially Matthew on the door) The check in was very quick and being able to get in our room before 3pm was much appreciated. First impressions of the room was the good size, plenty of room for the 4 of us. We got allocated a room at the back,it didn't have a view but was very quiet. You are hardly in your rooms so this one suited us just fine.

We visited New York City for the first time in August, 2004. After looking at reviews for the many available hotels in the area, we decided to try the San Carlos. What a gem! Upon our arrival, the hotel staff was friendly and fast. We were immediately taken to our room upon arrival. The room (or should I say mini-suite) consisted of a combination livingroom/kitchenette, including a microwave and small refrigerator, and a large television set. Off of this room was the bedroom containing a king-size bed, dresser, another large television set and mini-bar. The bathroom was also roomy. The hotel also offers a lobby area where you can access their computers and obtain free internet information.....great for checking email or finding a restaurant for dinner. You also get a continental breakfast with your stay. All-in-all, we had a fabulous time there and enjoyed our stay in New York at the San Carlos immensely. We would definitely stay at the San Carlos again, if and when we return to New York. As an afterthought, we extended our stay one night and decided to try out the Fairmont. Although the lobby and shops at the Fairmont are beautiful, the room we stayed in there was well below the quality we experienced at the San Carlos. What a remarkable find!

I recently stayed at the San Carlos Hotel for a weekend getaway with my wife and i must say AAA+. We were very happy with the service and the size of the room, we stayed in a standard room and that room was more then enough...Free internet from our room and there's a business center on the second floor complimentary, Ohh did i mention the fitness center (also free)it's not that large but it does it's job - specially when i normally pay for it. We loved it and highly recommend it to others.

Excellent hotel - brilliant location. Would recommend Book trips through doormen. Use their knowledge - they love to help. Do helicopter ride, Staten Island Ferry, Ground Zero, Wall St & Century 21 all same day - all next to each other. Eat around hotel - great. Ask for discount at Bloomingdales - they will give 10% like Macey's! Recommend going in Dec - its special!

My family stayed at the San Carlos Hotel last night. This hotel was immaculate. The new updated guest room was very clean, roomy and had every amenity you can ask for. Our room even had a suit presser and kitchen area with microwave and fridge. The staff is extremely friendly and the complimentary breakfast was very nice. This can easily be one of the finest hotels in New York City. I would stay there time and time again. Great job.
