We went with our friends the 1st time they had been able to get away for New Year due to looking after mother. They needed to relax and we had tension from the moment we arrived the rooms were dirty as were the corridors and the lift something out of the dark ages. The said they only had one room to move them to but it was the same wallpaper coming off walls etc etc Our room the bed only just fitted into the room. The fire escape door was open so we would not have felt safe. We refused to stay there but they charged us 1 for 1 night. The hotel Pennsylvania luckily had cancellelations and had two rooms left (no comparison both 2*) We had stayed there before so knew what it was like. The pictures on the internet no way show the correct state of the hotel and I feel that they should be inspected and in my opinion closed down until a revamp. I have now read reviews which our friends have faxed to us and they all say this place is the pits, have anybody from you company visited it? I dont think so as you would not be promoting it on your website. A very very disappointed customer who feels they should not have paid and I would not have but they were two rather large black men who made us feel rather intimidated and I was worried in case of trouble. I would like your comments please. Mrs S Hogg

we had bed bugs in all our rooms. it ruined our first vacation. WE had to go to the ER room and spent a whole lot of money that was not reimbursed by the hotel, although they verbally said they would do so! its the most disgusting and dirty hotel ive ever seen in nyc and i have seen a lot, due to my frequent travels and stays in the city. would NEVER stay there again. id rather camp or sleep at DUMBO!!!!!

Carpets need replacing and the rooms need urgent decorating. The bedding was clean but not changed throughout my stay,The cleaners failed to clean behind the chest of draws,The "lounge"was advertised as being available but was padlocked except for breakfast, The coffee machines were less than fully functional, the ice machines were not working. For this price in England we would expect Tea and Coffee in our room. I believe the tourist board in the USA should step in and raise the standards to meet the basic cleanliness and basic standards the discerning public require in this modern era. I would not stay in this hotel again.

You would think that the staff och a new york hotel should know english, however that is not the case och Regency inn. The staff is not service minded and will not help you with anything. The hotel was infected with lise and we were slowly eaten alive in our beds, he had to seek medical attention when we came home because of the insects. This hotel is a dump!

Room was tiny. Bed creaked a little, but was comfortable. Location was excellent! Subway across the road, Empire State building and theater district within walking distance. Continental breakfast quite good. If you want to see New York on a budget, this is the place. Overall, good value for money.

It was my first time in NY and the hotel is outside context. The price is not right with the facilities. It must be painted, carpets furnitures and curtains must be changed.

+It was very reasonably priced, close to Penn Station which made it easy to get to and from the Hotel, rooms were adequately clean, and breakfast was included which was very convenient. -Very small rooms
