Great hotel for budget NYC travelers I definatley recomend this hotel for most people. Its a cheaper alternative to staying in Manhattan. The J subway station is literally right outside the hotel door, and its about a 15 minute ride into Manhattan. The neighborhood its in, in Brooklyn, isnt shady. Myself and my girlfriend and her sister (all in our mid 20s) were able to walk through the neighborhood pretty late at night and felt completely safe. The staff was extremely friendly. Our toilet in our room wasnt flushing when we got there, but we called down to the front desk and they sent someone up and it was fixed in about 10-15 minutes. They were always smiling and willing to answer any questions we had. The room itself wasnt anything fancy or worth bragging about, but it was a decent size and was clean.

Good Place for the money We enjoyed out stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Subway very convenient for traveling to Manhattan, which was the reason we came to New York. The staff was friendly and helpful. The noise level from the restaurant across the street was loud on the last night stay, which was a Wed. night. The first three nights were quite and we got good rest. We would recommend this hotel and would have no reservation going back again.

Easy access from JFK.The Metro was very accessible & frequent trains.Don't know about the busses. The surrounding area was less than salubrious, but we did actually feel safe. The room with it's jaccuzi was most unexpected.Would have liked kettle/tea/coffee in the room.Breakfast (coffee/donut/bagel)standing in the entrance hall was unusual for us, but a good way to chat with fellow travellers.

The location was convenient; If you know your way around the subways the Ltrain is right outside the front door.I was able to do some shopping on Mertyl street which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel (walk up George Street)you can also get a variety of fast foods there.

Shocked! at how clean it was. OK for those of you who dont know, cause I didnt...Tax gets put on everything, However the trick is to spend up to a certain amount and then you wont be taxed. Also Buy a metrocard, they work just the same as travelcards, you can use them on bus and train and they are cost effiecient.

Stayed here for 2 nights during the month of July. Good for just sleeping, with comfortable beds. Night staff was pleasant. Across the street from the hotel there's a good family owned cafeteria and the entrance to the subway station. Traveling to Manhattan is just 30mn. Plan to stay again in September.

Might go back if ever in New york again The Red Carpet hotel was nice and very neat. It had all we needed. It is not the nicest area but every one around was really nice and helpful. The fact that the subway was right across the street was so easy to get where we wanted to go. The person behind the desk was not the happiest and friendest fellow, just took care of business, guess thats what he is there for.
