OKAY for the price The hotel was not as bad as I thought it would be (from reading all the previous reviews). We brought our own sleeping bags so we didn't use any of their bedsheets/pillows/covers. So yes, I was very comfortable in my own sleeping bag. The washroom wasn't THAT bad. And again, we brought out own towels (I never trust hotel towels anyway) and used the hotel's towels for the floor. VERY close to Manhattan. I wouldn't recommend to my friends, but I think I may stay there again.

Good for the money There was a good continental breakfast which was very nice for the money in North Bergen area. Plus it is just the across of Manhattan, in a few minutes you are there. The quality and everything was very nice. I definitely recommend for whom to save money is important...

Stay was adequate Hotel was comfortable. To be overly critical, the TV was only 19" in a 27" cabinet. A desk and a chair would have made office work more comfortable. The view from my window was of several bags of trash piled-up in a corner of the back parking lot and of a drain pool which was used by local kids to hangout. Overall, hotel was clean and I would consider once again staying here.

Dont do it! To me the hotel was old fashioned and i did not like it at all. I wouldnt tell anyone to stay there. The room was moist and just gave me a dirty feeling. The bathroom was all gloomy and you could barely see yourself in the shower. The towels crusty and the beds werent comfortable at all. The employees were nice but the hotel is a big NO!! Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks If you are planning to go to NYC your better off staying at a hotel there. Cab prices are a killer. You might as well pay for a GREAT hotel and be satisfied then to pay for a bad hotel and put all your money on cabs.

Nice for the Price We stayed here as opposed to a higher priced NYC hotel. It was clean and suprisingly, the room was larger than I had expected. Had to pay $10 deposit for an iron. The only downfall was transportation into NYC. I was expecting to hop on the subway, however subway is 2 mi away w/ little parking around the station. The hotel does offer a shuttle (at a minimal price) but it only picks up 3x in the AM and 3x in the PM. So we ended up driving and paid $33 for parking. Instead of the hassel of fighting traffic and $$ spent on parking, next time I will pay to stay in the city.

Budget Hotel Hotel is old, but satisfactory for the price. Recommend to stay back-side not front where traffic noise was.

Saved some money, but wasted time I really wasn't expecting a whole lot because I read a few of the other reviews, but the service was aweful and the hotel was hard to get back to at the end of the day. The Port Authority Bus terminal is probably the most confusing place on earth, and that is one of your only modes transportation back to the hotel from the city. The overall hotel wasn't that bad, but the people at the front desk were rude and hardly could speak english. The Palace could probably use a facelift and some more helpful, friendly employees.
