The hotel was under renovation. I was not satisfied with the room because it was very outdated so I upgraded to a new renevated rm, which cost me another 50$ a day! The rm was very small but new. The service at the hotel was fair.

We were going to New York City on a budget and wanted to spend our money on sightseeing, shows and shopping, not a hotel. The New Yorker was a very good hotel at a great location. The rooms are small but we did not spend alot of time in it anyway. The beds were comfortable and we had a good sleep. It was also quiet and clean. The restaurant had good food and service. We really enjoyed staying here for the excellent price we paid and would go there again.

The New Yorker is an old hotel, which has been remodeled, but kept some of the ambience from before. The rooms were large and comfortable. The staff at the hotel were very helpful -- check-in and check-out were easy and quick.

We would highly recommend the Ramada New Yorker. It was clean, staff were friendly and the room was more than sufficiant. Although our room was not overly large, I believe this is not unusual for NYC. The hotel is about 9 blocks from the theatre district and Time Square which was a bonus for us. We will certainly stay there again.

I stayed here once in 2004 and it was very dated. However, I just stayed here this past weekend and it was great. I made sure I asked for a renovated room...very clean!! It had a great view of the Empire State Building and a large screen TV! The location was fantastic. Also, the front desk clerk was super friendly. She told me two times, "Welcome to the hotel" and "Welcome to New York." Then, since my mom and I had to check out but be in New York for the whole day, they held our luggage for us so that we wouldn't have to lug it around. PLUS, we got to the hotel early for check in, and I mean EARLY. They told me check in was 3 pm, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask when I got there at 1030 am....they put us in a room right away! How nice! I reccommend this hotel to anyone. Merry Christmas!

This hotel went through some renovations throughout the last year. While it does't look brand spanking new, it was well maintained. I was impressed with the tile job in the bath room keeping the original sink and tub. The room was small but all bargain hotels in NYC are. The only drawback was the inconsistent wireless connection which I got only half of the nights I stayed there.

The price point, accommodations, and location of the New Yorker were all acceptable. The mattress was extremely firm. My only complaint was that the last morning of our stay, some workmen in the room next to us began using hammer drills at 9 am. I had hoped to sleep in a little, and voiced my complaint to the hotel manager. He told me that there was nothing he could do. Well, there is something I can do - write this review, and never stay at the new yorker again. An acceptable experience ruined by poor customer service.

+It is close to MSG -Huge crowds of cheer leaders, dancers clogged the lobby. Noisy in the lobby. Staff members did not know where the computers were. They charged for computer use.
