Appalling We booked 2 rooms. 1 stank to high heaven such that we couldn't bear to even enter it; i thought it stank of vinegar, my friend thought it was Branston pickle. The other room was much bigger with 3 double beds and wasn't too bad but was very basic with a tiny shower-room and overlooked 8th avenue with only single glazing and so was incredibly noisy so i had no sleep. we left after 1 night and went somewhere else. I would not recommend this place to anyone

No hot water in the shower, no air conditioner. Very bad conditions outside the room as well.

The people were great especially the manager. The location is extremely seedy but close to Times Square. It is safe because of the numerous police outside the hotel. Roomýs are very small (they do have some larger room if available) price great, but the air conditioner didn't work the first two nights so I couldn't sleep. They bought a new air conditioner which was very thoughtful. No elevator so I had to lug everything up 3 flights of stairs in extreme heat and humidity (The hallways arenýt air conditioned). It was ok for me but I would never take my family to that hotel. They do the best they can for the price and location.

The New York Inn is small but is in an ideal location for reasonably priced restaurants and sightseeing. Rooms need some updating and the bathroom is tiny. Would stay there again if in a pinch.

The New York Inn was not a very pleasant experience. The rooms, we had two, were very small and nonconsistant. One room's tv did not work, no remotes, no phones and very little "extras". both bathrooms were uncomfortable, too small and water leaked everywhere from the shower platform. The staff was ok as was the front desk, but did not have very much to offer in the hospitality realm of things.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel as it was rundown. The room was EXTREMELY small. The bed is located in a nook (which is the room). The nook is 7 foot long by 5.5 feet wide. The TV had no remote and the airconditioner was preset at a high level at 79 degrees. The room door had a gap in it and I could actually see out into the hallway. The wallpaper was missing in several places and that which was not missing was peeling badly. After two hours in the room, the air conditioner stopped working. The management offered me a fan, which was not going to cut it. The manager on duty at least had the courtesy to give me a receipt marked No Charge. I then checked out.

This hotel is appaling, it needs demolishing! Its filthy and a health hazard. Broken glass in the windows, windows sealed closed with insulating tape, sheets at the window instead of curtain. Electric sockets worn and dangerous. We had to find alternative accommodation. There was no cable tv...a non working TV in the room! Bathroom facilities disgusting, shower either scolded you or froze you.

The location was great, staff was satisfying, but unfortunately, being booked on the 3rd floor, was very disastisfying, having no elevator, and baseboard and upkeeping needs a lot of renovation.
