The bars rustic exposed brick walls, poured concrete floor, and dozens of flickering candles evoke the feeling of a charming wine-cellar but for the outrageous collection of furniture, from Louis XVI gilded fauteuil chairs upholstered in bold digitized prints of flowers, an enormous carved sleigh bed fashioned entirely of clear Lucite, chain metal curtains, and side tables that look like melting blocks of ice. In keeping with its residential mood, the Living Room at Morgans feels like the private library or drawing room of a classic estate transported to midtown Manhattan. Filled with a charming mix of styles, from comfortable English sofas, to a midcentury modern Danish chair, to African carved wood side tables, as well as televisions, computers, and shelves filled with books on everything from film and fashion to politics and geography, the Living Room is the ideal place to relax, have a drink, enjoy a movie, read a book or play a computer game. **Please note that each guest is required to have a credit card at check-in. I do not see any "recent 09" reviews, and I am concerned that this is the hotel hotwire.com has placed me in.

The Morgan is a sleek, modern, stylish hotel with the fabulous Asia De Cuba just downstairs. The rooms are small, yes, but have everything you need. The location makes it easy to get around by foot or taxi.

There are some lovely things about this Schrager locale (i.e. Madison Ave, the housekeeping staff, Asia de Cuba Restaurant, etc.) however, a hotel with so many management vices is simply unacceptable. In one instance, the heat in my room wasn't working and so I came downstairs to talk to the office manager Fernanda Marina "personally" about tying things up. A simple problem I assumed. However, not only did she give me the "French" attitude when I asked her to repeat what she was saying (her English was Third-World to say the least) but she also assured me, with her "heard it before" demeanor, that the problem would be fixed in 15 minutes. Nonetheless, the engineer never came until the following day. No phone call. No reassurance. The only good thing about that sleepless night was watching the sunrise. But wide-eyed and chilled to the bone, I could've gone without the Auschwitz portion of the evening and the incompetent bullwhip that induced the experience.

I've stayed at a number of other Morgans Hotels, both in New York, and in other cities, and have always been very happy.

Only had 2 issues: 1. The hotel saw our reservation as being cancelled due to my girlfriend booking the hotel with my credit card - if the hotel had been full we would have been extremely disappointed. 2. The bathroom was very small - very different from

highly recommended We would definitely encourage anyone to stay in this hotel when visiting New York. The location was very good for accessing many of the sights. The room was very clean and spacious and the communal living room facility was useful for accessing information on the internet and had tea/coffee making facilities. We didnt sample the evening restaurant menu as there was little vegetarian choice however the very helpful staff happily recommended other local places to eat.

First of all I want to say this is the first bad review I have ever written in my life. I threw my 30th b-day there and it was the worst thing ever. From the start all I heard was lies.

+Everything! If I had to choose one it would have been the staff! -It was kind of dark. However you must understand that I am an Interior Designer so I notice those things!
