Great Hotel in Downtown Manhattan The Millenium Hilton was a pleasure to stay in. It was clean, had a nice large bathroom with great views from the room i stayed in. It was a bit noisy due to the construction work going on around the hotel but the hotel management made every effort to compensate for this by providing sound machines. The service could have been improved on slightly but overall, I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel

Check-in took 40 minutes; booked a king room w/view, 3 weeks in advance for $219/nt; upon arrival, I was told my reservation was no guarantee; ended up with small queen w/limited view. Was still charged the same rate. Management couldn't care less about their disorganization. The two managers told me I should feel grateful that I was getting a $400 room for half the price in the first place. Get this: even though the room was at the end of the hallway from the elevators, we still heard the noisy, whooshing sounds all day, all night. It was awful. Staff was polite, but not helpful. Luckily I viewed my account prior to check-out, because I was overcharged by $1,000 for 4 nights! Plus charged $4.95 for a mini-bar drink that I never touched. They even had the gall to ask me repeatedly "if I was sure" that I didn't take a minibar drink (sigh). Be prepared for the tipping scam: the doorman insists on taking your luggage from the curb to the lobby. The luggage is then handed off to a bellhop. If all you need is the financial district location and a pool, then this is the place. If you value your money and its worth, then avoid the Millenium Hilton at all costs. This is not a place for rest and relaxation.

My wife and I just left The Millennium Hotel in NYC from our brief Honeymoon and I must say how dissatisfied we were with the service we received at the "Exclusive 4-Star" hotel. Upon our arrival I made arrangements with the gentlemen at the front desk to have a car pick my wife and I up from our Wedding Night Dinner Cruise. This was after upon check-in that the bellhop failed to make the arrangements for us as promised. Time and location were supplied to Arturo and I was assured that there would be a car waiting for us when we docked. When we arrived there was no car. In fact I had to walk approx. 6 blocks in the cold rain to hail a cab back to the hotel, exactly what I wanted to avoid by arranging a car with your hotel. After arriving back to our room we found that there was no heat. Because we were both exhausted and wanting to go to sleep we did not want to make an issue of it because we did not want to change rooms at that time. I believe that our mistakes were having such high expectations from such a prestigious company. That mistake will never be made again, for we will no longer stay at a Hilton affiliated hotel again. I'm afraid that if the disappointing service we experienced at the 4-Star rated Millennium Hilton is the norm I wonder how it is in other not so exclusive facilities under the Hilton Umbrella.

Good hotel, despite building works Pay a visit to Century 21 (located next door to the hotel) where you are sure to pick up a bargain.

Would choose the Millenium Hilton again Most everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations. We were on the 50th floor and the view was spectacular! The room was nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom even had a lighted face mirror! We’re used to watching HDTV, so the fact that the big screen plasma tv didn’t broadcast HD was disappointing. The only thing about the hotel is that the restaurants and bar seem to close up early. On a Friday night, the 3rd floor restaurant/bar closed around 10:30pm and the lobby bar was preparing to close around midnight. For out-of-town visitors, this is not good, especially since there aren’t a lot of alternatives close by (we ended up walking down the street to get a slice of pizza and a soda). The hotel is right next to Ground Zero, but we were so high, we weren’t inconvenienced by the constant construction activities. The subway entrance is on the same block as the hotel and taxicabs are readily available to take you anywhere in NYC you want to go. Traveler's tip on nightlife Have alternative plans for dining/nightlife! We had planned to spend the evening at South Street Seaport dining and enjoying the free concert. However, that day was incredibly hot and the restaurants were not offering air-conditioned seating. So, we abandoned our plans and dined at a place in midtown. Later on we wanted to hangout somewhere else, but wasn’t sure quite where to go. We wandered around Times Square and finally decided there was no where else to go but back to the hotel.
