We booked really late and didn't have much to choose from. I took a risk (based on the reviews for this hotel that are floating around the net) and booked at the Manhattan Broadway. My travel companions were ready to kill me, but when we arrived we dis

Upon arrival in the cab I was horrified at the exterior - and tben upon entering the premises I couldn't believe that it could get any worse. The stench in the foyer was unbearable. Tiles were broken throughout the entry way. The reception desk looked like something out of Law and Order when they are inspecting a seedy hotel. Upon seeing the room - the "Suite" I was horrified by the hair left behind on my towels by previous tennants. The towels were supposed to be white but were grey - and about the size of a dish towel. I would not even consider walking on the carpet in bare feet. From the state of the towels and the carpet I could not even imagine the state of the bed linen. We could not even bare to stay one night. Checked out immediately - staff very unco-operative and rude. Refused to let me speak with a manager. The elevator is the size of a box and has a strong odour of urine, not very inviting. I have logged a complaint with the NYC department of healh because the conditions were so bad.

It was dirty, the staff was rude, the elevator was literally 5' x 3' x 7', a very tiny box that me and my luggage barely fit into. The room was a joke. The 'bath' towels were smaller than most hotels, roughly around the size of a dish towel. They did not provide any soap or shampoo and the featured Jacuzzi tub had all the nozzles sealed and disabled. The floor seemed to not be clean and it stank. There were dead bugs under the bed. I slept in the tub the night I was there because it was cleanest and promptly left for a new hotel the next day.

+ The staff was the only positive experience. they were very kind and helpful. - The room needs painting and/or better decoration. there were mosquitoes, no windows, the bathroom needs repairs. the reception could be prettier and more professional for the price. overall too expensive for the facilites.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, while they dare charging you $250+ a night. The room I got did not even have a window, was dirty, super small and funny smelling.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The location is superb and we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. This was my first time in NYC and staying here I felt very safe and secure and never worried about my belongings. The room we had was fairly basic but the beds were comfortable and the shower was warm so you couldn't ask for anymore considering the price. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good place to base themselves without paying a fortune for it.
