Will Never Stay at the Latham Again In all my travels, this was by far the stinkest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Going in, I knew this was a budget hotel and not to expect much. Its’ sole purpose was a place to sleep. The disgusting pungent ashtray smell and the sauna style heat would not allow me to sleep. While my room looked clean, it and the entire hall smelled like the concentrate of 8 million ashtrays. This was supposed to be a non smoking room. I do enjoy a smoke every once in a while and I have friends who smoke, so I’m not hyersensitive to smoke. The fact that I was only booked for 1 night was the only good thing out of my stay. Traveler's tip Do not Stay at the Latham hotel

The hotel was fine...but... The Blue Smoke restaurant just off Lexington Av and 26th St (I think) is amazing, it has Jazz, and has a great selection of ribs!!!

Don’t go here This hotel is bad. Half the people staying there are residents (probably low-income). There are signs everywhere that say no smoking, but people smoke. We would come home and the corridor to our room smelled awful. The residents are intermingled with the hotel guests, and one time we came back to them smoking and possibly doing drugs in front of our room. The elevator (there is only one) is so slow, and when it does come, it usually gets taken up by a resident and her baby carriage. It’s in an okay location, close to 2 subway stops and a few blocks from the Empire state building, but that’s not worth it to stay here. Pay a little more and get a nicer hotel.

Quite a good room for that price with large TV facilities, air condition and bathroom. The facilities worked pretty well I felt safe and comfortable there. Recommendation for all people who don't wanna spent a fortune and just need a rest at night. Very friendly reception and helpful people at the desk.

This is a great hotel!!! Do NOT expect the Ritz Carlton and you will be pleased. The location is perfect and anyone who has ever been to NY and knows how expensive it is, will be very delighted with this hotel!!! Will DEFINITELY stay here again. Staff is SUPER! Thanks, guys! :)

A great hotel with good service and is in the best location and at a very good price great place 1 min from the subway 10 mins from the empire state build 15 minutes from macys and madisson square garden and macy*s i would suggest people to do as much sites first then shopping because the mistake we made is that we tried to do sites and shopping each day which was very tiring also if your stay is long try using the metro to go uptown... have fun

Great bargain hotel. We'll be back This hotel is perfectly located in Midtown, two blocks from subway stations, two subway stops from Times Square/Broadway. While the room was a little small, it worked perfectly well for us. The private bathroom was a plus even if the hot and cold were backwards on the shower. It only took a minute to figure that out! The staff was wonderful, the bellman great and offered food recommendations.

Great value and location The location was great - walking distance to Times Sqaure, Empire State, and Madison Square Gardens, and a block away from a subway stop. Clean, well-kept rooms and bathrooms along with a friendly and helpful staff made for an excellent stay.
