Good hotel but try to reserve a room above the 3rd floor Try to reserve a room above the 3rd floor especially if you are staying between Thursday and Saturday as you can basically hear the jazz from the second floor jazz club between 8 PM and 11 PM.

A pleasant change of pace! We’ve never been able to afford the Kitano before but for some weird reason they had a good deal on a recent Sat nite so we snapped it up! All in all a very comfortable and pleasant experience. Only drawback was the bar had live jazz so we couldn’t just go have a drink without a minimum and/or cover charge. Would definitely go back if the affordable deals keep coming!

Great hotel and location but does have its draw backs After reading reviews of this hotel on various websites, we were all pleasantly surprised by the Kitano. 6 of us had travelled to New York for the new year celebrations. The hotel was clean, the service was excellent and the room was exactly what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The only draw back to the whole experience was that the air conditioning was horrendous. Our room was hotter than the surface temperature of the sun and the air con did nothing to help. I even had a cold shower at one stage to cool down! Bear this in mind if you are planning to stay in the summer as it must be intolerable. I know that it wasn'y just my room as our companions were in 2 other rooms and they had the same problem. Definitely check to see if they have upgraded before travelling in warmer months. Apart from this, enjoy New York, it's fantastic!

Great hotel for a New York City experience There is so much to do so don't expect to see it all in a long weekend! Have some idea of want to see/do but don't let it stop you from just bimbling along Fifth Ave slowly or sitting in a cafe and watching the world go by. Xmas is very special, check out Rockerfeller Plaza and catch the Xmas Spectacular at Radio City. Go eat downstairs at Grand Central Terminal as the buzz is great. You will NOT get through your NYC "to do" list so you have the perfect excuse to go back don't you!!!
