+Ideal location. Room was very small, but, clean and modern. No complaints to speak of. I would recommend for a weekend - any longer and the confined surroundings would be an issue. -Would like to have had tea making facility. Room was certainly not big enough to take our 3 year old son had we wanted to.

Hotel Mela provided superb accomodations and great guest service. While the room was smaller than some, it had very new carpet and new contemporary furnishings. The room had a flat panel t.v., armoir with plently of room to hang clothes for two, a room key activated safe, and a large desk. The double bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on at any hotel. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent -- it was only two short blocks from Times Square and three short blocks to the subway station. Restaurants, shops, and entertainment were all within a short walking distance.

Wonderful New Hotel I stayed at Hotel Mela for 8 nights on a business trip. It was ideal for a base, half a block from Times Square, to run around to meetings all over Manhattan, watch a Broadway show and walk to various wonderful restaurants. I was surprised by the pleasantness of everyone from the front desk to the cleaners. Everyone was cheerful, always happy to help and clearly cared about the facility. I spent a lot of time in my hotel room, working between meetings. The room service from the restaurant next door was nice food, delivered fast and there was plenty to choose from -- breakfast, lunch and dinner. The room had everything I needed: iron and ironing board, lots of plugs for my laptop and phone charger, constant free wifi and a constantly tempting minibar. The hotel atmosphere is fresh and fun, with beautiful dark wood and splashes of colour, with a modern sitting room by the elevators with a chess board and backgammon. I would highly recommend this hotel -- my stay was flawless.

The Hotel Mela provided clean, modern accommodations in a very convenient location. The deluxe rooms were very small (similar to a small cabin on a cruise ship) and had minimal amenities (e.g., no in-room coffee maker; ice had to be requested from room service); however, the hotel was very clean, quiet, and the staff very responsive to requests. The hotel was half a block from all the action in Times Square, just over one block from the shops on 5th Avenue, and two blocks from Rockefeller Center. There were plenty of restaurants and things to do in the immediate vicinity.

We stay at Hotel Mela for a business trip 7/29-7/31. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were small (as expected) and very comfortable. Good sheets, towels - etc. The room was thoroughly cleaned and smelled nice when we arrived home each evening. Compared to some of the larger chain prices in the area - this place a real bargain.

What an amazing location I would definitely recommend paying for the Gray Line Open Top Bus Tour for two days as you can hop on and off as you please on several loops around Manhatten. A great way to see everything at the pace you want to. Also they do a fabulous nighttime loop where you can see the city lights!
