we loved the clean retro yet comphortable settings.very modern updated rooms with flat screan tvs.The beds were so incredible almost dangerous we almost didnt see the city because we couldnt get out of bed.the service was impecable, and they get you whatever you need at any hour.We felt like king and queens. The swiming pool is on the roof and playing beautiful music you can enjoy the city life while feeling like your in the bahamas on the roof. great night life close by. the cons are that its not very children oriented and a little pricey but worth it in the end.

Had a best weekend ever! My husband booked it as a romantic weekend away. When he told me we were staying at The Gansevoort I said "shut the front door"! It lived up to every expectation and then some. The roof top pool was amazing! We relaxed

The Japanese restaurant serves great Fro Groa, very fresh sashimi, with very good decorations. Just don't sit at the sushi bar, not much too see and too much restaurant work to be noticed. Overall my friends and I had good time.

We loved the beauty of this hotel but the elevators that lead to the rooms also lead to the top floor bar so look out...rowdy people with the smell of alcohol ride up and down all nite long. From eight o'clock on the ride can be down right scary.

pros: locationI have stayed at many boutique hotels of NYC. This place seemed quite nice when it just opened but this time I was appalled by the crowds of teenagers in gold chains wondering all over the place. Rooftop bar looked like a zoo. I didnt...

Stayed for five nights in early March 2005. I travel to NYC 5-8 times a year on business and was delighted to find my new "favorite". The staff was very efficient and friendly, responding to requests for internet conections, places to eat, "where is" questions, hailing cabs, etc. The roof bar/swimming pool is really fun with a wonderful view looking west over the Meatpacking District and the Hudson. My only complaint is that the roof top furniture is not on par with the rest of the quality of the hotel. There is a "cool" crowd in the hotel which adds to the experience. My room was quite comfortable, and the bed wonderful. The bathroom had plenty of room and everything worked. The floor was very clean (I stretch every morning so I care about this!). Great maid service and an excellent breakfast. I am booking it again for a trip in June.
