Nice friendly hotel. Very clean. Cool attempt at being completely art deco. (The fixtures are mostly reproductions, but they are very authentic.) Close to Wolfgang's, the best steakhouse in NYC. Also close to subway on Park. Compares well with "On the Ave", an upper west side hotel.

Nicely remodleled and refurbished rooms in an older building in the Murray Hill district. Good location for tourist activities, but a bit out of the way for either mid-town or financial district business. The staff was very friendly. There was free high speed internet in the room.

Great Boutique Hotel! Although the room was small, it provided all we needed for the stay. Other rooms, I think, were larger based on location on the floor. The location is convenient to the major subway and train terminals which is VERY helpful for traveling uptown and to the airport.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Hotel Chandler Nov. 28 – Dec. 01 2008. Front Desk, Housekeeping, and Bell staff are most efficient and courteous. Great location - just off 5th Ave. on 31st and nearby access to main subway lines – ‘F/Q/R’ at 34th/6th and the ‘ #6’ at Park/34th . These served us well as we had multiple shows to attend uptown (Carnegie Hall) as well as in TriBeca and Soho. The ‘basic’ room (Superior with Queen bed) is on the small size – typical of NYC boutique hotels – but not so cramped that two people can’t move about without constantly running into each other-and the bathroom is quite spacious (though not a lot of shelf space for toilitries, tooth brush, hair brushes, etc - we used the spacious well of the recessed bathroom window for this stuff) . Furnishings and amenities are top notch throughout (beds, linens, clothes drawers / armoire, flat screen TV, plentiful & accessible electrical outlets, stereo radio with Ipod dock, bathroom fixtures – overhead/rain shower-, upscale toiletries, complimentary NY Times outside your door each AM, etc). The in-room safe was appreciated (I wish more NYC hotels had this) and the provided bathrobes are a nice touch. Three phones might be a bit overkill in a room this size, but what the hey. The comfortable lounge / library area off the lobby has all-day complimentary coffee, tea & hot chocolate, with a TV/DVD/Stereo and free Internet access. The two elevators are most efficient and we never had to wait more than a minute for one throughout our stay, regardless of time of day.

I stayed there when it was called Le Marquis. I lucked out and got a very, very good rate. The room is small like most NYC hotels, but everything in it is top notch. They keep it very clean. The bed is fluffy and comfy with quality linens. The shower is awesome. Spacioius with rain-drop faucet that comes down overhead.
