A great Weekend. I was amazed at how friendly the hotel staff was. The only problem I had with the whole situation was if there going to charge you to park in the hotel they should valet you. I mean it was 21 dollars a night and on top of that we had to get our own car. Other then that the hotel was great.

Good out of town location The hotel is directly connected to Newark's Penn Station and the Gateway Business Centre. Regular Amtrack and New Jersey Transit trains run to New York's Penn Station (approx 20 mins) and the PATH subway takes you directly into the World Trade Centre site for only $4. Regular trains also run to Philadelphia and Washington DC. There are also good highway connections to the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan.

cigarette smell We had made reservation for a non smoking room with king size bed but instead we got a room the smelled like some one has smoked there, and 2 double beds, we asked to change to another room but we were told that none is available and we need to call next day, to check . the bath room was very very small, the hotel is very close to the train station and for $1.50 you can be in the NY city.

Very impressed! Highly recommend. The location was idea. The skywalk over to NJ Penn Station with the train taking us to TimeSquare area New York for the return cost of only $7.00 per person. 5 minutes walking distance from the Prudential Center to see a Devils hockey game...this was an idea location; just a super place to stay and the cost was very reasonable. We are very particular about our stays at hotels, this was one of the best we've experienced and within our tight budget.

Nice lodgings, service is subpar, a bit far from Manhattan The room was very nice, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located across the street from the PATH train, and there is a covered walkway, so it was very convenient to get to and from the train station. When we checked in, the boy behind the desk was surly and unfriendly. There is only a small restaurant available for breakfast. The service in the restaurant was terrible, and the buffet is $16! Do your homework and find a better alternative for breakfast. The purpose of our trip was to visit Manhattan. We chose this hotel because we wanted someplace on the Jersey side (cheaper than Manhattan and no city driving required), and within walking distance of the PATH train. Our plan was to take the PATH train into the city in the morning, and return at the end of each day (sometimes we got back very late). Even though the trains run 24 hours, late at night we sometimes had to wait 1/2 hour for the next train out of Manhattan, and then the train to Newark went through Hoboken, such that it took nearly 1 1/2 hours to get from Manhattan to the hotel. In hindsight, I wish we had done more research and found a place to stay in Manhattan, even if it wasn’t as fancy as the Hilton. WARNING! our reservation didn’t guarantee two double beds. Fortunately they had a room with two double beds available when we checked in, but if not, we would have had to take whatever they had with no refund.

Minutes From Manhattan Head out onto Ferry Street and experience Little Portugal. There's a great little inexpensive BBQ chicken place I would highly recommend called Ferry Street BBQ. All their meat is cooked over coals for a great taste!
