Very comfortable rooms, very friendly and accomodating staff! Excellent location for site seeing and walking to shops. Super deli at their back door and close to wonderful restaurants. I felt very safe which is a high priority for me traveling with my daughter.

Needs to be refurbished because of its dowdy appearance.Check-out is cumbersome by today's standards. Bar is appealing in contrast to restaurants. Many hotels in this category are more enjoyable to visit.

The hotel is undergoing renovations and it would unfair to rate it under the cicumstances. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we would stay there again

This is one poorly maintained dumps. Wallpaper was peeling off the wall, segments of baseboards were missing, furniture and curtains were way beyond servicable lives- faded and stained. The bathroom was disgusting.

The Helmsley Park Lane is a bit of old New York. Catch it quick before it disappears! The room service staff is not up to the standard of the rest of the staff at the hotel - and their heating system is extremely dry - but other than that the hotel is a wonderful, wonderful place to take advantage of N.Y.

Fine and quick service from all the staff. Rooms need some modernising.

The place is old and used up. The staff looks down on children, even older ones, who were all on their VERY BEST behavior. The sinks backed up, the rooms were not that clean, the food was expensive and not that good, and I hope none of us come home with a staph infection. How about that for $380 per night? Give me an Embassy Suites any day over this place. I had a much better experience at the Waldorf Astoria.

The rooms were worn out and out of date. The room service options were extremely overpriced. NEVER will we stay at a Helmsley again.
