this is a nice hotel and great location. we had a couple of problems. first was the bathroom. barely enough room for one person and it was a "king size" room. Second was the elevator situation. We waited almost 10 minutes everytime for an elevator to our room. Third, we almost missed our show due tothe fact that it took over 40minutes to catch a cab outside the hotel.

It was OK, but not 100% worth the nightly rate The hotel was nice, the staff nice. But I was surprised the room did not have a bathtub. I know many don’t in New York City, but as a Hyatt I would think this would be noted somewhere. I noticed in band aids were stuck to the bed side table and never removed. Traveler's tip on local attractions The hotel was in a great location to move around the city.

Stayed at the Grand Hyatt with my family in October. Customer service is 5-star. The room & bathroom are small but you won't spend alot time there anyway. Don't eat breakfast at the Sky Bar & Restaurant unless you want to spend $15 dollars for a continental breakfast. For a family of four, its too much. Buy your continental breakfast at the Coffee Bar and eat in either the lobby or up in your room. For a quick dinner, the Grill is fine. One block away is Pershing Square restaurant. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside but once inside, you'll be surprised. The food and service are very good and prices are reasonable.

Nice Looking lobby and thats about it. i was not impressed with grand hyatt hotel. 1. front desk very rude, gave us handicap room we had to go down complain so they moved us to a different room on 25th floor. on that floor, the toilet was not working, the bath shower was not working so we had to call the front desk again to fix. 2. bathroom door was all dirty, the bath tub was nasty looking. 3. we requested for 42nd or lexington st view but the room we got the only view was office buildings. 4. lobby tvs, you can only watch until 8pm after that this random guy with no hotel uniform just passes by with a remote control and turns off the tv with out informing anyone it is time or whatever the case is.... 5. the rooms are very dark, i dont know why...this hotel needs updated badly.. overall, i will never stay in this hotel again and i dont recommend this hotel to anyone either.

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for about a week for business. The room rates were outrageous, even for Manhattan, but all other rooms were booked.

My husband and I just came back from NYC we stayed two nights at the Grand. Not so Grand. We checked in Early and I asked the woman for a nice room we were celebrating our 20th ann.No such luck we had two double beds. The weather was bad so we just took the room. The room was gross it was like walking into the basement our room was so dark only one working light. The bathroom was gross and moldy, black mold on the walls and floor. The paint was peeling from the ceiling and holes in the wall. There is no way this is 4 star. The hairdry looked like it had dried blood on it. I was afraid to touch anything it was so gross. The view was awful you could wave hello to the people in the other building. The staff was not helpful at all. We waited 1 1/2 hr for a taxi when another woman tried to take our taxi the bellman said I am not going to get involved after he saw us standing there for so long. I think it was reverse discrimination to be honest she was not even staying at the hotel. We also waited 2 hours to get our car to leave. Calling ahead for your car that does not mean you will get it any faster. The room service was so expensive we decided to eat at the restaurant breakfast brunch. So expensive everything was cold and the eggs were not even done (unhealthy.) We told the waitress and she said just order an omlette not what I wanted. She was rude and hardly spoke english. Horrible service for the price you pay. We stayed at the Westin last year and it was 100x better nice big rooms great views clean rooms great room service, staff friendly and nice-- this place does not even compare. Go to the Westin. It is right by Time Square. The location here was great but not worth the money at all.

room was very nice and clean bed was superb--the only thing was that you could not get a cup of coffee after 1:oopm or at night unless you ordered room service and they had a great coffe shop or cart right inthe lobby but it closed so early in the afternoon.you could order roomservice but i did not feel like paying$12.00 or $15.00 with tip.Other than that the people were very helpful and attentive and was a very pleasant stay
