The Perfect Weekend I just concluded my weekend at the Glen Cove Mansion and I can honestly say it was perfect. We live near in the area but just wanted a quick getaway. The mansion is on 55 acres, all of which is perfectly clean and manicured. At night the trees and walkways are lit up and it looks beautiful. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. For instance, after we’d checked in we realized we’d like a fridge in the room. I called the front desk, and for no additional charge, within 20 minutes it was brought to our room and ready to go. The indoor pool, billards table and gym were all easily accessible and in good condition. The town of Glen Cove is nice and quaint. It is very close to Roosevelt Field Mall and many places to eat. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay The hotel is huge and can be difficult to navigate. We found a shortcut that saved us a lot of time and walking, so keep your eyes out because there are many stairways that can make it easier to get around.

Mixed feelings - clean, comfortable room but there were other issues Had to wait for front office staff to check in and out - no one was at the desk. The power went out one rainy afternoon - all the kids staying there were out running in the halls and common areas! Also, did not get a wake-up call on the last morning - could have missed my flight!! Staff is friendly.

Splendid Nicely updated hotel, with the Historic Mansion and the front. The indoor pool and the workout facilities are very good. The only time I have ever really seen people actually using these types of facitlities in a hotel. Traveler's tip on dining Try the hamburger with the Blue Cheese on it that they offer up in the bar.

Historically Breathtaking but needs a little attention My boyfriend & I have stayed twice just for getaways from the kids. It is a lovely location. The front desk staff was courteous and the gentleman we dealt with was knowledgeable about the history of the Pratt family. The previously mentioned maze is because hotel buildings were attached to or adjacent to the mansion with no real regard for matching the historical architecture. Most of the rooms are beautiful. We had to be moved from one that had the TV armoire broken but the front desk took care of it immediately. The pub staff needs serious waiter training. The rooms we stayed in were beautiful. The bed was so comfortable. THe tub and shower were perfect. We loved the pool. We explored the entire grounds. What a place! It’s a shame that so much is not kept up that does not directly impact the hotel operations. Apparently the person in charge doesn’t feel for the place. Highly recommend Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Bring a travel cart. The parking lot is a distance from the hotel and you have to take your bags to your room on your own.

Bad choice We wanted a quiet country place for the weekend. This is not it! This huge convention center and wedding mill is a poor choice for a casual informal weekend. Service was poor, the place is rundown, carpets are filthy, and there is no decent place for a casual meal, other than the huge formal dining room, or a drink. Definitely not recommended. Traveler's tip on local attractions Teddy Roosevelt’s home in nearby Oyster Bay, a charming village, is well worth a visit, as is the Planting Fields Arboretum.

Looking for Family Friendly and High End? My wife and I were looking for a high end hotel compatible with our 4 yr old son and 6 yr old daughter. Although the dinning room was closed for events, the breakfast buffet was excellent and not just because the kids ate free. We ate in town the first night and in Southampton on the second. But SH is really for shopping. Sag Harbor is more kid friendly because of the beautiful harbour full of boats. Also an easy drive from Glen Cove to Jones Beach and the Belmont Racetrack, which were great for the kids. Hotel’s large indoor pool, attractive fitness centre, and outdoor tennis and basketball courts helped too. We didn’t get to it, but an amusement park is also nearby. Good for winter blues. The Glen Cove Mansion is a good option in both the summer and winter. Indoor fun on site can help the winter blues. In the summer, Belmont Racetrack, an amusement park, and Jones Beach are 30 minutes away. If you like shopping, Southampton worth the drive. Close to there is Sag Harbor where a restaurant overlooking the harbor would be enjoyed by boat lovers. Glen Cove is a great location on Long Island very close to NYC without having to suffer the long drive into the Hamptons.

Excellent Hotel - I booked this hotel on short notice for a family emergency. The hotel staff was accomodating, the room was excellent and the facilities were good. I would definitely re-visit especially if I had time to use the indoor racquet ball courts, pool and exercise room

Bucolic respite!! Take a stroll around the grounds, sip tea or coffee on the flagstone terrace enjoying the view and listening to the sound of the fountain, or enjoy the pools and recreational area. You can relax here if you allow yourself to do so. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is very helpful and pleasant, and the breakfast buffet is plentiful. The weddings, reunions, etc. are not intrusive considering it’s a popular place to have these events. Loved it and would definitely stay there again. Traveler's tip on dining The dining room is not always available for dinner but there are plenty of nearby restaurants.
