Nice, good value for money, but needs new bed linen The Exchange Hotel is located in the quiet (at night) financial district just off Wall Street. It felt very safe even in the early hours of the morning. 5-7 minutes walk from the Subway (2&3 lines). The hotel has been refurbished a few years back and is showing signs of wear and tear in the bathrooms particuarly. The bath had signs of mould around the edges and the plastic shower curtain is just nasty in a hotel of this caliber. The rooms are very large by NYC standards. The Air-Con is out of the ark and is one of many features that were not updated during the renovations and give away the true age of the underlying building. The pubic areas are in very good condition, with free internet access and coffee provided for guests. The breakfast, whist not spectucular, was nice and you can have as much as you like. The hotel is within 15 minutes walk from the Brooklyn Bridge, Pier A at Battery Park City (for the Lady Liberty Harbor Cruise), Ground Zero and Century 21 (for cheap designer goods). Overall a nice place to stay, particuarly if you want the quietness of the financial district at night (just get a MetroCard ($7 per day or $24 per week) so you can travel the subway to get back).

Was close to good viewing place for July 4 fireworks and near to Seaport area & TKTS booth which had shorter queues than the one near Times Square.

Great location at a good price This chic hotel in the heart of the financial district was a pleasant surprise. A spacious, well-stocked, clean room greeted me at the end of a long day. And the firm mattress provided a great night’s sleep. I would certainly recommend The Exchange Hotel to others.

+ Nice large room for the city - Unclean, unhelpful staff, breakfast wasn't included, no view, most expensive minibar i have found, too far from attractions for tourists. nobody knows where it is so hard to get back to at night.

decent hotel near the south street seaport this hotel is in a great location for visiting the south street seaport, financial district, and brooklyn. the room was clean. only two complaints: the "modern" bed was too hard, and there is limited privacy because sound easily travels between the walls.

Moved to the Dylan When we showed at the hotel, their AC was not working so they booked us into one of their sister hotels near Grande Central Station and even gave us cash to pay for the cab they hailed. The Dylan Hotel was great and hopefully the Exchange Hotel was as nice. Great service in putting us up in a seemingly coparable hotel.

We could got a very good room and high quality servce. Also it is located near the subway station, just a few minutes, and about 15 minutes to the central area. We'll come back there at the next time too!
