I was booked and ready to spend a weekend in NYC this past weekend. However, my grandmother, who has been struggling with her health for a while, was rushed to the hospital the day before my check-in date at the Club quarters hotel. There was absolutely no way that I was going to leave my grandmother's side for a weekend of leisure - NYC can always wait! To make a long story short, I called the hotel approximately 21-20 hours BEFORE the check-in time and their policy states that they will only fully refund people who cancel at least 24 hours ahead of time. Now, I am a very reasonable person and I understand that policies are created for a reason, but I am also aware that given the circumstance, several hotels are willing to accommodate their guests to ensure a returning and satisfied customer. I mean, I was only THREE hours "late" to cancel a ONE NIGHT STAY!! I had EVERY intention of making new reservations to stay in the hotel the next time I came down to the city and possibly stay longer. The rep that I talked to on the phone was so heartless when I told her my situation - "well, too bad. i can't do anything. your grandmother has nothing to do with us." I was horrified at her response! My grandmother is extremely ill and you can't cut me some slack for being THREE hours late to cancel my reservation?? Heck, I would've been fine with half of my refund or simply moving it to another date (within the same price range). I am truly disgusted and furious at how they treated me that day. It makes me wonder how the rest of their staff is and question the ethics of the company. worse customer service i have EVER experienced.

This was a great hotel. The room wasn't huge but, it was big enough. It was nice and clean. The hotel has a bar and club on the 7th floor with free internet access with computers if you forget to bring your laptop. Great location near 5th avenue shopping a couple of blocks from Times Square and Central Park. Right in the middle of Rockafeller Center and GE building across the street. The staff was friendly however the checkin was quite weird. They make you check in using a kiosk and it spits out your room key. They offer early check in or late check out for an additional fee. You can check out as late as 3pm for an additional fee of $30.00. I would def stay at this hotel again.

My wife and I booked a king bed + hideaway bed for ourselves and our two young daughters at the Club Quarters - Rockefeller Center. Althought the room was guaranteed, the hotel double booked our room. When we arrived, our room was gone and we were forced to take a smaller room with a single queen bed for the first night of our stay. They gave us a crib for our youngest daughter. I slept on the floor.

The rooms are on the small side, but I've stayed in smaller hotel rooms that cost more. Importantly, the room was clean, bed was comfy, AC worked, there was good water pressure, and the bathroom was unexpectedly large for a NYC hotel. Plus, the price is unbeatable for the location - convenient for the midtown financial center, Rockefeller Center, and the subway. Check-in couldn't have been easier with the self-serve kiosks. I missed it until my last day there, but there's a cute little lounge and restaurant with roof terrace too.

+We loved the location, the cleanliness of the room, and the helpful staff. It was everything the website said it would be and more! -The elevator key cards were a bit of a pain, but that did not affect our overall satisfaction with the hotel.

I'd highlight the positives :- 1. Prime location. For somebody new to New York It's simple to find places to eat and shop. 2. Belongings are kept safely 3. Responsive staff The negatives:- 1. Very basic facilities being provided.Every extra small thing is being charged. 2. The size of the room is extremely small in comparison to what u pay. 3. Levels of hygiene are not very high.
