Although the room is a bit old (not recently renovated), it is ok with its price. I deem my stay in West End Studios pleasant, largely owing to the nice front desk - I believe it is crucial for a hostel to succeed in long term to have reasonably good service. One thing I wanted to mention, Ms. Haidee has been really kind and helpful to most guests I've seen, including myself.

This was a dirty place, the beds felt like they were going to come apart, and the sheets were all stained. There was snot on the walls, and the bathroom was filthy. Nothing about this place was clean. I felt dirty just stepping in the place. Don’t go by the pictures you see on the websites, they are not of the same likeness. Spend a bit more and go somewhere else.

It was cheap. It was disgusting.“I really was misled by the pictures. This hotel is really crappy inside and is not worth the price. The bathrooms were never clean and the door would barely open or lock.”

This hotel was great for an economy hotel in New York City. The room was very clean. The shared bath was clean and well stocked as well. It was a much better stay than I was expecting for the price and in a great neighborhood to boot.

This is a dangerous hotel! We felt like there was going to be a murder outside of our door. There were men with English accents screaming profanities at each other. We four women were petrified! The door didn't completely seal all the way around it. It was a nightmare of a place. Now that we're safe at home and time has passed, we can laugh about that night. It took me about 10 good bookings to get my girlfriends to trust me again after I booked them here.

This is a very nice hostel in a safe area. The staff is amazing, Linda is very nice & speaks French (which helps a lot) and the general manger Fitos is awesome. Highly recommended if youre coming to NYC on a tight budget!

This hostel is really not bad. Other than my freak incident of paying $130 plus for a room on New Year's Eve, the rooms are really cheap! Go for a dorm room and you pay only $15 a night! The lobby is nicely furnished and the elevator is really quaint, too. And the staff has installed lockers in the basement for you to store your luggage if you need it. The rooms are really old and the bathrooms really tiny. But for what you're paying, don't complain. There's no free internet, but you can tap the wireless connections around the neighborhood. The good thing about the hostel is its location. It's just two blocks away from a subway station, and there's lots of food places around, too.

Ok this is no 5 star hotel, but for 25 bucks a night, is all my brother and I needed: a safe place to pass the night. The location is excellent (two blocks from subway) and the staff is very friendly. They even let us see and choose the room before we paid. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, and although there's only two per floor, we never had to wait. You get what you pay for. Never saw one bug!

This place is a nightmare for the eyes but I had just gotten into a fight with the woman and needed a place to stay for the time being.. I look for a bed with four walls and look no further at 50$ a night and 350 for the week. I got what I had asked for. There was free wireless linksys access supplied by a neighbor and the room was decent It locked and being cristmas time I couldve been paying alot moore for amenties I did not want. The basics include..A floor bathroom that is the size of a walk in closet a front desk that seems to be high all the time that will never help you.. Cost effective and I loved it stay here to save guap and maybe even your relationship.. Ive bookmarked this place as the number 1 slide off spot .. gentleman u will agree!!!
