Perfect place to crash I was in NY for the weekend, and all I needed was a place to sleep and shower. This hotel was perfect for that. In fact, it is very similar to a nice European hostel. The room was clean, and so was the shared bathroom, which I did not even have to wait to use. It is right near Madison Square Garden, so there is a little bit of noise, and the room was a little drafty. Customer service was great, they upgraded me and my friend to a room with a bunk-bed to make our stay more comfortable. For the price and location it can't be beat. If you are a snobby type that needs every immenity possible then this is not for you. Oh yeah, they have internet service and computers there as well. I will definitely stay there again.

not impressed Hotel was close to where I needed to be but expensive for what it was. At half the rate it would have been ok.

Clean, solid and at this price acceptable but you get cheaper ones with larger rooms in midtown. Best suitable for people in the 20ties.Nice terrasse inside. Safe. Not particular but can be quite loud.

Excellent Choice of Hotel I have to admit I was just a tad worried about the shared bathroom - but given all the good reviews on this site I decided to try it. When I got to the hotel they immediately and without asking upgraded my room choice. They are fantastic. The staff was SUPER. The hotel was clean, the location was GREAT. I will definitely be staying with Chelsea Star again. They have Wireless internet for laptops in your room, and two nice ’Pay-as-you-go’ computers downstairs. This was very nice as it has a printer attached. So you can print out your plane boarding tickets. Traveler's tip on dining Several great eating places near this hotel, Pad Thai is a great choice. The pizza joint Angelo’s is just a block away. Molly Wee Pub has great burgers and is directly diagonal from this hotel.

Near Madison Square Garden, Empire State & Time Square!!! Great location near Madison Square Garden, Empire State & Time Square!!! The hotel has one bathroom per floor. The bathrooms were always available and clean. If you are going to spend the entire day out this is the perfect hotel!!! The cleaning /maintenance staffs are very nice; they changed daily the towels and the bed sheets. Definitely I will be staying here again! Traveler's tip on nightlife Great Irish Pub near the hotel!!
