Best Western Mill River Manor

Not impressed Horrible hotel. The phone kept ringing all night long, witgh nobody there. Had to unplug them both nights we were there. Then the maids decided to throw out all our food in the regrigerator. Would not stay theer again.

About what you would expect for the price This was a reasonably priced inn. The location was great as it was just a block away from a LIRR station with direct trains to Penn Central, about 40 minutes. The room was clean although there was a slight odor from some type of deordorizer. The room we had was adjacent to the road so you could hear the traffic. We slept with the air conditioner fan on constantly and it wasn’t bad but our next trip, we will ask for a location away from the road. They had morning breakfast which was good, cereal, waffles, baked items, coffee, milk, OJ and juice. The cable was good from what little we looked at. The bed was slightly hard but they did provide plenty of pillows which was nice. They are in the process of redecorating the facility and the rooms are next. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay but not a great place to stay. Because of location, especially to family, we’ll probably be staying here again. If you’re here to go to NYC and the sights, forget the car rental. Use the LIRR and the subway. You don’t want to risk having to drive in NY traffic.

See The Big Apple from a slightly more economical outpost Clean, small, nicely decorated rooms. Well maintained buildings. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice selection of very good restaurants two, long city blocks away. Large supermarket a half-block away. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks LIRR train station a half-block away, which gets you to Penn Station in about a half-hour, for a reasonable fare. From there, the subway will take you anywhere in New York City for a pittance.

It was okay The room was adequate the building is old and it seemed in the process of remodeling. Train runs right behind the hotel; which was very noisy. Traveler's tip on recreational activities Close to the Belmont Race Track. Easy to find.

Was doable. The hotel was under remodeling which was fine, the room seem to have too much furniture in the room, it made moving around tight. Being next to Sunrise Hwy it was also very noisy with the traffic being right next to the hotel. My room was 460 next to the highway. WiFi was not always working and it was at different speeds - not consistent.

Winner Comfortable, affordable and convenient!

O.K. in a pinch This motel is o.k. Nothing spectacular. The room was adequate. The pillows are terrible. The are note even full sized and the pay movies don’t always work. I have stayed here five times in the last 6 weeks. The staff is friendly but does not go out of their way to help. I would stay here again if my other preferences were not available. I also feel that they charge too much for what you receive.
