Given it was Easter weekend and we had left booking until the last minute, this place was a bargain compared to most things out there (a little expensive I thought but being New York it was quite reasonably priced). Pretty good location as could get into Time Square within half an hour, even with the 15 min walk to the nearest subway stop. They had a 24 hour shuttle that would drop you (and pick you up) to the station too which worked great (although we never used it to get back as you had to ring and we'd read elsewhere that you could wait a while so we decided not to risk it and just walk!). Breakfast was pretty decent (scrambled eggs, sausages, bagels, toast, waffles, cereal, fruit, doughnuts, tea, coffee, juice). Internet was dead slow but hard to complain when it's free but in this day and age it's pretty bad, I think a 56k modem would have been 5 times faster than this place! Staff pretty good although one of the ladies on the front desk was a bit hard to talk to at times.

Far from the sub way, difficult to call hotel for a ride, good breakfast and eccelent restaurant next Far from subway. Hotel has shuttle but hard to get in touch with hotel for a pick up. good breakfast and excellent Irish restaurant next door. Spooky neighbourhood-cemetery in front of hotel

This Best Western Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you're going to visit New York City. The Subway line #7 is a 15-minute walk from the hotel - AND the hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the subway station, as well as LaGuardia Airport. We never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for the shuttle. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet offers several choices of food. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and will probably choose this hotel again for our next stay in NYC.

Great place for the price! This hotel was a great place to stay to see the city without paying for a Manhattan hotel! Free parking at the hotel and the shuttle to the subway made this a very convenient arrangement. The breakfast was great too. The best part is that they let us leave our car there for a few extra hours after we checked out, and even shuttled us from the subway station again! This is an old building, but it’s in nice shape. The elevator is slow, and the bathroom was showing some wear, but it was a clean and comfortable room. NY subway stations are not stroller friendly! Just leave it behind, or don’t plan on using it until you get off the train and out of the station!

Everything is just fine. However, the transportation from this hotel is terrible! I often wait 20~30 mins for the shuttle of the hotel.

Great place to spend the night, impressed Cab from hotel to 34th street was around thirty bucks... both in the vicinity of 34th street, you're either staying in a hostel or paying 5-6 times what the Best Western City View Motor Inn cost!

The Best Western City View is OK if you need a place for a short stay and want to be close to the airport and major highways. I found the room to be small but comfortable and not any better or worse than other hotels in this area. There is no restaurant on premises so food has to be delivered from local restaurants. The free breakfast was OK, again it was nothing special.

Pretty Nice for the Price We stayed in this hotel for a trip to New York City. Overall it was nice. The building is old, but was well maintained. They had fresh cookies in the lobby everday which my wife and kids liked. If you are visiting NY by subway, you will need to take a shuttle (sometimes will need to wait on it) to and from the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint is the choice of music/radio station of the shuttle driver. It was not the most family friendly. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Stay here and ride the subway instead of the more expensive hotels on Manhattan.

This Best Western City View is good for those who are just looking for a place to sleep. It's small and simple, nothing exciting or romantic here. Just a comfy bed to sleep in. The hotel itself is about a 20 minute walk from the train. They provide a shuttle, but you have to call the hotel beforehand and let them know you're at the train station. They had fresh baked cookies when we arrived, which was a nice touch. It didn't bother me, but it's across the street from a cemetery. It was a great value for what we were looking for, something close to the city and cheap. But if you're looking for something more, this isn't the place.

A great hotel in the Brooklyn Area We were very satisfied with this hotel. The building is old, the is kept very well. The inside is clean and the beds are very comfortable. There is a full hot breakfast served every morning: eggs, sausages, waffles, donuts, fruit, and more. They also provide a free shuttle to and from the LGA Airport which saves you a lot of money. The free shuttle is also available to take you to the subway entrance which is about 8 blocks away. We would stay there again when we go to NYC.
