Even though this hotel has outdated decor, the location is great and the service is perfect. You are within walking distance to central park, fifth avenue, park avenue, etc. The hotel restaurant is pricey, but the food is great and the view is spectacular.

From arrival to departure, this hotel definately surprised me. I am an avid visitor to NYC and have stayed in the the Marriotts, the Hiltons and the Embassy Suites. But I was able to find a deal online for this hotel and took a chance. The hotel staff was courteous and all of them remembered my name after meeting me once. I received a courtesy call about 15 minutes after check-in just asking if the room was ok. I had a 1 bedroom suite for less that I would get a regular room with a double-bed.

The staff was excellent, the rooms were very spacious and very very clean. The location was a bit away from the action, but it just made us see more of Manhattan that is beautiful. I will definitely return to this hotel.

We just spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Beekman. Hot in NYC. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was out the entire weekend. It had been out for two days when we arrived!! When we asked they said they were working on it, but the repairman's shift was over and he was gone for the day! (NOTE: When the air conditioning isn't working, he doesn't go home until it is!!) It was strange that the a/c was working quite well at the reception desk and in the restaurant on the 26th floor. Room was HUGE, but carpet was old and loose, large ripples in the carpet. Bathrooms were small, non-slip mat in the shower was DISGUSTING. Too hot to sleep well. All in all, we won't be staying there again! JRI

It was a bit of a walk from the area of Manhattan that we wanted to visit, but not bad, and, hey, walking is good for you!

Very convenient location, close to Lexington fifth avenue. In walking distance of central parc, Chrystler building and empire state b. You can walk all the way from battery parc, via china town - little italy - the village - broadway to central parc and back to the hotel in 1 afternoon.

This was the worst hotel experience of my life and I'm 60 years old. The place is filthy. I was afraid to turn out the lights for fear of what may crawl out from the draperies. The carpet was torn, the wallpaper peeling, the heater extremely noisy and the sofa had huge stains. It was outdated, dirty and depressing. There was not a place to sit comfortably in the entire room. It had a kitchen area which had egg smeared on the counter (from a previous visitor). We had a reservation for five nights, however, only stayed one. The room was not as promised on the reservation. We had a room with a king reserved but it was unavailable when we arrived. It looks nothing like the pictures online. The desk person was very unpleasant as well. Please save yourself the time and hassel. There are so many wonderful places to stay in New York City... in fact, any place would be better than that hotel.

The place needs renovations bad. The service was pretty good. But, the hotel overall just felt dirty. The heat wouldnt turn off so it was hard to sleep. And the bed was like sleeping on the floor. Wouldnt stay there again.

Upon arriving at the Beekman I was unsure about it. I am much more of a "luxury" hotel kind of girl, but was traveling with a family member who had booked the hotel. To my surprise, the Beekman actually made my weekend in Manhatten the best it could be! It's like having an apartment in the city, only bigger and nicer. The kitchen is a huge perk, when you consider the cost of eating out in Midtown. Even when you do go out, bringing home your leftovers for that midnight munchie is a great bonus with the fridge.
