The bed was absolutely the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. They also gave me a suite at the regular rate, which I was more than ok with. The rooms were not well soundproofed due to the window air conditioner units. Also, the curtains did not quite close and the light was obtrusive in the morning. However, that did not matter because the bed was so absolutely comfortable. The location is also wonderful and I would recommend this to anyone.

We (3 adults - mid-20's) stayed at the Ameritania in September 2006 and had an exceptional experience.

It had the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The city was noisy, but this is nearly inescapable. The rooms were a little small, but the website said this, so it was expected. The bar was very chic and inviting. The location was perfect and I'd stay there again without considering any other hotels.

After reading other reviews, I was rethinking my decision to stay at this hotel during the Thanksgiving Holidays. I'm glad I didn't go somewhere else.

Like everyone says here, the location can't be beat. Right on the corner of Broadway and 54th, the nearby subway station at 50th and 7th was convenient, and a plethura of bagel and coffee places right on the same corner made it nice to get up and go in the morning. We had a room with two beds, and I hear that is the key here, the single rooms are just two small. We had plenty of room to unpack our clothes, nice closet room for hanging garments, and plenty of drawer space for the unmentionables. The staff was just fine, I found the doormen rather helpful, and the subway map they give you at check in was great, kept that thing in my pocket the whole trip. Great place to stay for the price, would recommend it to anyone.

I have nothing good to say about this hotel but its location. The first room we got was so small we could not unpack our luggage, and there was duck tape around the aircondition so the noice from Brodway was unbelivable. Neither of us slept the first night. The second nigth we got a more quiet room, but as small as the first one. If I could do my trip over again I would have spent alot more money on the hotel. I will not recommend this hotel, get another one!

We stayed in the hotel for two days. When we were checking out, we were told that we watched pay-per-view in the first night, which was not true at all. We didnt even open the tv that night!
