Staying at the AKA Times Square was a wonderful experience. The apartments are huge and superbly appointed - leather lounge, 2 LCD TVs, great bed and linens. Even the dinnerwear, glasses and cutlery were good quality. I especially liked the fridge with icemaker and full stove and microwave. The staff are just as good. We were greeted every time and all requests met promptly. There are free PCs and printer in the business centre - really useful for printing maps and directions. The location is half a block off Times Square with many restaurants, delis and convenience stores nearby. Everything is close to AKA Times Square. Cant wait until my next visit.

Stayed 2 weeks before xmas for a friends birthday. 50 meters from times sq. on 44th street - best location you can imagine. Had a 2 BR suite that was better than ANY hotel I have been in anywhere in the world. Lauren at the front desk was awesome - handled tickets for shows and everything. Can't say enough good about the beds/linens or having a washer/dryer in the room - it's nice to come home with a suitcase of CLEAN laundry. Biz center was nice, had macs, gym adequae. The only downside is the wooden walkway over the construction out front, but our room was silent and perfectly clean. Didn't see any mice either, but I'm sure there are a couple in NYC. Do what you can to get a 2 BR for a couple it is beautiful.

I stayed at the AKA Times Square 9/10-9/14. Not only are the rooms beautiful and modern, but the amenities are amazing; full kitchen with top of the line appliances, separate office, washer/dryer, wi-fi, flat screen TV, free breakfast, and coffee all day. There isn't a restaurant or bar in the hotel, but you really don't need it since there is a ton of each up and down 44th Street. The staff is great also! It seems like it’s also the place to stay for corporate or long term housing because I saw a famous actress and learned of a top corporate executive that had been living there for over 3 months! The one thing I was sure they would have was an MP3 player or dock station, but instead they had those Dream Machines with a CD player. My boss stayed in the 1 bedroom, which was vey nice.

This is an amazing apartment hotel steps off Times Square. I found it by pure fluke (verbal recommendation -- friend of a friend of a friend). Very clean, modern and somewhat austere decor. An older building that has been thoroughly renovated. The bathroom contained a luxurious deep soaker tub and gentle rainshower shower. While it does not have a restaurant or room service, everything is available 24/7 right outside the door. Because the one-bedroom apartment was extremely spacious, my husband slept in while I handled business calls in the living room/kitchen area. Definitely my first choice for longer stays and for the same price as much smaller rooms in the area.

Stay away from this rodent infested hotel. It looks nice, but there are mice EVERYWHERE!!! We did not have food in our room, but we saw a mouse in the bedroom one night, and then saw one in the living room the next day. Ridiculous considering the price and that this is a recently renovated building. Hotel claims to be non-smoking, but we could smell cigarette smoke in the hall way. Staff does not enforce the non-smoking policy. The building is also really loud. Not well insulated from street noise. The AC/heating units are really loud and seem very old fashioned for the new renovations.

Just returned from New York. I would never recommend this hotel to anybody. This is the worst hotel I have been in a long time. The positives are: great location and good living room with kitchen. The negatives are: Motel 6 has better and cleaner bathrooms, bedrooms are not big enough for a bed so doors do not close, many windows have a wall behind them so you can not see anything through them, the hardware in the bathrooms is falling out so bring the tools with you since the service is hard to come. Dramatically overpriced for the quality and lack of any service.

We stayed at this hotel as a two day stop-over between the Caribbean and returning to the UK. The accommodation was selected as it all the facilities that you have at home and is more spacious than the majority of New York hotel rooms. There is also a small fitness area with several machines and free internet access (either on your own laptop in your room or use of two Macs in the business centre) The staff were welcoming and very helpful - we arrived very early and our room was not ready but our bags were stored and we were provided with coffee, cake and toilet facilities. The hotel is located on a quieter side street immediately off Times Square so despite the fact there is no bar/restaurant in the hotel, this is irrelevant as you are surrounded by bars, deli's, restaurants and every other commercial premises you can think of. We did not find the hotel noisy even though it is in this location. The advertising seems geared towards the business traveller however I would recommend this property for a weekend break as it is similarly priced to a lot of the popular hotels, has space and is in a great location.

I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of December 2007 and I loved every minute of it. I was a little skeptical about it since the travel agent had never heard of it before and it fit our budget. I was amazed with the location of the hotel- its just steps away from Times Square! The doormen at the hotel were always VERY pleasant and very polite and always offering assistance. The staff at the front desk was also the same- very pleasant, polite and very very very helpful. I had only checked in & the lady at the front desk asked if there was anything she could help with and I said yes ... I need to know where such a street is because I want to get tickets for the GrayLine Tours. She said she was going to print out all the information and it up to the room. I was only in my room 5minutes and a complete package came up with all the details. The hotel was amazing. The room was always clean. The housekeeper we had was very hard working and we always came back to an immaculate room. The gym area and business centre where the access to the free internet was also very clean and well maintained- even the printer always had paper in it. Not to mention the new MAC's they have. When I was there construction was going on at the front of the building on the street, but it wasnt only going on to the front of our hotel but to the places beside us too. There isnt reason to complain on this- so you had to walk across a wooden board to get into the hotel ... give me a break!!! That is such a MINOR thing and nothing to be complainingabout. I also had a room at the front of the hotel and the noise never bother me because it never started until after 9am. Its an amazing hotel and I would recommened this hotel to anyone.
