As Advertised The hotel was just as advertised. The suite was very large with a full kitchen. It is right on the beach and also has 2 pools. It is not very hip, modern but is well appointed.

Want to go back again!! The Alexander is a wonderful place to stay. A great place to go with your family. We did not have a car, but easily used the bus for a $1.50 fare to get about anywhere desired. We were about 2 miles from Art Deco area, which is what we wanted as it was more quiet and relaxing. Our room was very, very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The 2 swimming pools and right on the beach was exactly what we wanted. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Use the bus~you don’t have the daily parking fee and it can be difficult to find a parking space in Art Deco area. Bus fare $1.50/person.

very dated rooms The rooms were big, but carpets in rooms and hall ways were very dirty, all the furnishings in the rooms were very dated including the decor. This made sleeping in the beds a little unsettling...felt like I need to buy new sheets and conforter sets. The staff was good to bad depending on the person you spoke to. Overall I felt it was a one star at best....Just know what your getting, so your not mad when you go there! Traveler's tip on recreational activities Money is better spent somewhere else.

Not a 4 star hotel! more like a one :( Well, our one bedroom suite was nothing as described and it definitely is NOT a 4 star hotel. The furniture was very outdated,(not classic deco-style at all! more like a yard sale combination), looked dirty, it felt yucky to sleep on the bed. Bathrooms misssing towels (which were dirty and very rough!). Oh and the stakehouse that’s in the hotel was absolutely disgusting and very overpriced! The staff was absent, and the security guards were rude. When we arrived we waited almost 20 minutes to be atleast acknowledged by the receptionist. She was the only one there and was on the phone helping someone else, when she put down the phone to get a pad she didnt even make eye contact with us or at least say hi, and the security that was standing 3 feet away from her doing nothing didnt look at us either. Not welcoming at all!! The only good thing is that the beach is right outside and its clean and beautiful. Forget the pools, they were so small!! and because of construction we had to walk through the hotel’s stinky underground to access the pools and the beach. Oh and their little business center is a scam, i paid 15 dollars to use the internet to check in to our flight and it didnt work, and they didnt give me a refund. Instead their conceirge guy (who didnt speak english well and had no idea how to use the computer) tried to help me. I would never go back there. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Buy some groceries for breakfast, hang out at the beach all day, and at night get in a cab (forget the buses!) and go to Ocean Drive. It’s all lined with good restaurants and little cafes and lounge bars. It was what made my stay in miami fun.
